This was me a month ago so I can sympathise with you. I did some research and ending up going for this one in the end, it was a more reasonable price but still had great reviews.
The one issue it does have though is it stinks when you unwrap it! I ended up smothering it in bicarbonate soda and then left it outside for a couple of days then added a bit of talc to it and it did the trick fine.
It is so comfy though and no more crick neck or stiffness on a morning so I'm happy with it. Hope you get one sorted soon, it's miserable waking and being sore from sleeping!

Panda bamboo pillow. Game changer for me - cured neck pain. Takes a bit of getting used to because it's like a block to start with but persevere and I'll bet you love it.

Frazzled2108 · 26/08/2024 21:43

I bought a Putnam pillow for neck pain which was recommended by my osteopath. I've found it really good.

Mudflaps · 26/08/2024 21:55

You'll laugh at what I use but it works for me. It's a camping compressible pillow from Decathlon, https://www.decathlon.ie/p/308736-282554-camping-pillow-ultim-comfort.html I've spent so much on pillows (there are at least 5 on each bed at this stage) and never found one I was comfortable with until I found these. I have fibromyalgia for over 40 years and it's left me a really poor sleeper who has to have a soft but supportive pillow, bought one of these for camping and it was so good I bought another and I use them all the time, even keep one in my parents for visits and one in the car with a light blanket, sometimes fatigue hits and I'll have to sleep for a little while before continuing my journey!! It's a small latex pillow and I really must try get a full size but I'm almost afraid to in case it's not as good.

I’m a total princess and the pea/ Goldilocks about pillows. I can’t do memory foam ones (feel too solid), nor anything too poofy i.e. the microfibre fake down ones (I feel smothered). And actual down or feather ones make me sneeze. Wool works for me. I got my most recent one from the Secret Linen store online.

RacingDriver · 26/08/2024 22:14

I love my Tempur one and recommend it to everyone. I have to admit initially I thought I’d wasted my money and it wasn’t comfortable but after a week I got used to it and now sleep 100 times better and even take it on holiday with me (in UK) because it makes such a difference.

WildWildWestCoast · 26/08/2024 22:16

I'm another fan of a wool pillow. Supportive and not too hard. Mine was from Woolroom and I got one that you can add/remove the filling, so that it suits me perfectly.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/08/2024 22:17

I suffer neck and back pain. A physio once told me feather/down were best. I am very satisfied with M&S Feather and down (duck I think) and they aren't too expensive.

Ditto! Took a while to get used to mine but wouldn't be without it now. In fact, I'm on hols right now, lying in bed typing this ... With my head on my pillow 😂

Edited to add that I have the Tempur Cloud. An investment... But worth it (I have problems with vertebrae in my neck).

Roserunner · 26/08/2024 22:28

I also have a panda bamboo pillow, Costco often have them for £20-25. I wasn't sure it was working but I've had it around 6 months now and I'm hardly getting any neck/bank ache now.

DancingFerret · 26/08/2024 22:29

We both get a good night's sleep with these. They also come in soft, but we find the medium has just the right amount of give without being too firm.

NotMeekNotObedient · 26/08/2024 22:34

We are converts to the tempur contour one here. We could do with a new one but the prices are painful. Tried copies but they are just not the same! We have travel versions for our holidays.

JulesJules · 26/08/2024 22:37

My D1 found that this pillow from John Lewis helped:

Oldfatandfrumpy · 26/08/2024 22:43

My Aelya dual pillow has been a godsend

friskybivalves · 26/08/2024 23:00

I also suffer from neck pain and persistent migraines for which I am medicated. I have been through every single type of pillow in the known and unknown galaxies - ranging from the firmest Tempur to the softest goosedown and the most sustainable wool. Have spent £000s and been in despair.

The solution for me has been the Original Groove Pillow. www.groovepillows.co.uk/products/easy-sleeper?variant=31726559723606&nbt=nb%3Aadwords%3Ax%3A17132666306%3A%3A&nb_adtype=pla&nb_kwd=&nb_ti=&nb_mi=142534107&nb_pc=online&nb_pi=SE00101&nb_ppi=&nb_placement=&nb_si={sourceid}&nb_li_ms=&nb_lp_ms=&nb_fii=&nb_ap=&nb_mt=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=17132666306&utm_content=&utm_term=&gadid=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwz7C2BhDkARIsAA_SZKaIAfUzN1QEhUxKeN7V8AW6tU9mbxswVRdB4tPHRz8piO5ErKdBoYQaAnyPEALw_wcB

I recently went away without it - disastrously, WTF was I thinking?? - and was gibbering at the prospect of coming back home to my.own bed. Would never previously have thought either my neck or head could have borne the pressure of a firmish pillow but this one supports in the right places without pressing in where it hurts.

Worth a go and I'll buy it off you if you hate it! I need another!

AuntieDolly · 26/08/2024 23:03

I love my buckwheat hull pillow. Takes a little while to get used to it but so firm & comfortable and they last forever

maz210 · 26/08/2024 23:57

Another vote for Tempur Cloud here. Very expensive, but worth it not to wake up with neck pain/headache every day.

I bought a Putnam pillow for neck pain which was recommended by my osteopath. I've found it really good.

I second Putnam love them so much we take in holiday with us

Silentnight orthopaedic pillows have made a huge difference to my neck pain and headaches.

Peasnbeans · 27/08/2024 02:09

These - were recommended on here and I miss it on holiday! No more fighting it trying to bouffe it up. There's different kinds, but basically choose Box Pillow style.

I have struggled with back and neck issues and went through a LOT of pillows. I can give recommendations but honestly, none of them fully helped because after going through so many pillows that I could start a shop, I realised the bigger issue was the mattress.

Ive always preferred a medium or even a softer mattress, hate the feel of a firmer one. But we stayed somewhere with a firm mattress and I suddenly realised that it helped my back.

I also realised the pillow I now need on my firm mattress is completely different.

So its worth considering both your pillow and your mattress.

HotHotChilli · 27/08/2024 04:49

I was also going to recommend Groove pillows as mentioned by @friskybivalves . After an injury I was suffering from terrible neck/shoulder pain and headaches and this really did help.

I also spent a crazy amount on trying out different pillows but this was the only one I got any form of sleep with. But leave them out for 24 hours to get rid of the initial packing smell.

But I do love a feather pillow but sadly cannot use anymore.

youllneverknow · 27/08/2024 08:29

I also recommend the Groove pillows. I have had issues with my neck for years and this has made such a difference me. I take it with me whenever I go away in the UK
