She serves his food and he hits her with a plate. The police do not view CCTV and let him go. Apparently "people make mistakes". WTF is going on in this country?

The police do not give a shit about women and girls. As shown by their glib attitude: https://x.com/metpoliceuk/status/1826569459969970586

We are not safe on the train, at work, in our homes. How the fuck is this is the state of "Equality" in the UK 2024?

I think in light of more and more instances of the police not acting when the evidence is right there before them, that viligante justice will start to grow.
Then maybe the authorities will wake up and take notice

These officers should be sacked. It won't happen. I doubt they will get any meaningful consequences.
It's only a woman, after all.
If the police do nothing, they are complicit.

ThePerkyDuck · 26/08/2024 16:41

Based on her statement from the YouTube link above, not only the police did absolutely nothing but they also believed the man when he told the police she told him she will punch him in the face (a very believable story), but also were gaslighting her when she said the wanted to press charges against him. 😓

Do Mumsnet shadow ban things?

Why has this thread not had more comments?

gardenmusic · 26/08/2024 17:42

He was clearly protecting himself from this big, scary woman.
I am stunned that she has not been arrested for threatening behaviour.

Why has it not had more posts? Fatigue, I think. It's every bloody day.
It is dangerously becoming the norm.

It is a real shame because men no longer step in to help women and the police are expected to. 20 years ago that man would have been stopped by the chefs and taught a lesson.

You can guarantee though that nowadays any man who stepped in to protect a woman would be the only one who got arrested.
The man who attacked the woman would get away with it.
After the police refused to arrest the customer who gave my coworker a black eye (and my coworker was male) I have lost all faith in them.
Women are always treated worse by the police but they don't seem to want to help anyone

The police were actually sat there in the same restaurant eating, and still let him go. Unbelievable
