I had to google her after "Breaking News" headlines 😂
This is not news

I was wondering this when I was reading the bbc news

im guessing slow news day

LlynTegid · 14/08/2024 20:44

Silly season was the term that used to be said about August.

SweetAmber · 14/08/2024 20:46

Silly season

StellaCruella · 14/08/2024 20:47

Not much news in August. Parliament in recess and a lot of people on holiday.

Abigail47 · 14/08/2024 20:57

There is a rumour going around now that he had allegedly gotten another woman pregnant

ThreeSides · 15/08/2024 01:49

I googled and found out. There is always a rush for people to prove how highbrow they are by making a show of asking on these threads who the celebrities are. It’s like people who just have to tell others that they don’t own a TV…

Yes, this. They just make themselves look pathetic.

And yet they bother to take the time to open a thread about them and reply.. 🙄🤣

People's personal lives eg break ups should never be "news" because it's simply none of our business. I think perhaps British royals, very senior politicians and bona fide a listers it's ok as am absolutely postscript to the news extended broadcast but not shorter ones and never in the headlines section of the online news

mitogoshi · 15/08/2024 07:40

I also don't know who they are but I'm 50. My dd doesn't know either, she's 24. Not into gossip magazines or websites, unless you count Private Eye.

Ifailed · 15/08/2024 07:44

love island is very popular

The summer launch episode of Love Island was watched by 2.2 million people across various devices.

Which means 65 million people didn't watch it, so hardly popular.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 15/08/2024 07:46

Drives me bonkers.

Also the constant pregnancy announcements.

Who the fuck cares that some D List celebrity is up the duff?

Frieda2024 · 15/08/2024 07:55

They’re probably trying to appeal to a younger demographic, coupled with slow news month.

What slow news month?

New government, pay deals for the doctors and the train drivers.

Ukraine's army halfway in Russia, Iran about the attack Israel, riots on the streets here.

American election continuing dramas.

And so on.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 08:07

I think there must be something bigger to it for it to have been on sky and the BBC

Tyson Fury Is famous because of the world titles he's won. He's a bloody good British boxer but unfortunately is held back by poor MH. Him and Tommy are very involved in Charities and have a particular interest in MH. He has a Traveler background, which is a minority that we are allowed to be discriminatory towards.

His autobiography, in which he describes his MH issues, is (perhaps surprisingly) a damned good read

Tommy is also a very good boxer, but has not had the level of wins that Tyson has. His profile is more from reality TV and insta life, than from sport

It is to the 7 million people that follow her

Assume they're one of those silver, crushed velvet sofas + French bulldog couples?

That comment lands a bit badly, because their (Pomeranian) puppy died after 6 days. There was quite a lot of coverage of that (and I realise you must have missed that) but it was a useful bit of highlighting of the risks when buying a puppy

ErrolTheDragon · 14/08/2024 19:03

Presumably related to Fannie Mae if significantly newsworthy?Confused

Oh Thank Heavens ! I'm not the only one then? I thought 'Why is the American sub-prime mortgage scandal in the news again?'

Tommy is a decidedly average boxer and has mainly fought other youtube stars.

Also famous for having a dad who is an absolute clown and assaulted someone at his last boxing match.

Also both him and Tommy are banned from visiting the United States due to connections with drug dealers.

FinnJuhl · 15/08/2024 12:20

It's currently the second most popular news story on New York Magazine's entertainment news website. These guys clearly have international reach!

It most definitely is not breaking news to 7 million people.

No, I had no idea. How awful.
