I accidentally left my antidepressants at a hotel. I rang the hotel but they have destroyed them as they were not in a box with my name on.
Got in touch with my doctors and the reception said it should not be an issue as it happens a lot.

just got a text from my doctor wanting the name and address of the hotel so they can verify- ok no problem
They also want me to file a police report!!!!

i rang the doctors and said no crime has been committed I simply left my tablets at the hotel by accident but they said they need an police report and crime number before issuing another prescription!!!! Would the police even give a crime number for this.

also my friend a few months ago left tramadol a controlled drug behind on holiday and her doctors issued a new prescription no problem at all. They did not contact the hotel or anything.

just for information this is the first time this has happened so there is no pattern of me doing it before

Never heard of this happening in all my working life 😅 I work in pharmacy and regularly have patients loosing meds who call asking for help. Doc just issues a new script and that's it. There are some exceptions where it may be a bit more thorough such as anti depressants/ addictive meds, known suicidal patients, but Evan then its usually not a problem if its clear it isn't a regular thing. I think the police would have a right laugh once you get off the phone!

Same! I actually work in the regulatory field now and these doctors sound bonkers!!

Unless it's a schedule 2 controlled drug, they're barking up the wrong tree.
