It's not gov at national levels but at international levels. I.E the world bank.

There is evidence that the great depression in the 1920's was brought about by US banking families, who in their turn made massive profits by buying up shares that had been dumped.

Yes I agree people do talk a recession but where does the info come from in the first place, from bankers. Even in the sub-prime area there is a man who has made millions out of it.

I used to think of banking types as rather stolid, serious and slightly dull people. Now I think of them as highly-strung, jumpy rumour-mongerers.

i agree with Beeper - there are people who have made a mint out of the current problems, and now our governments are clearing up their mess

is it right that there are venture capitalists and hedge fund managers sitting on hundreds of millions of personal wealth, while the system picks up the bill for their losses

i don't think so. these people are too big to fail - it's insane.

tellme about it we were waiting until our penalties ran out to buy a 3 bed, now have two ids and am pregnant with third and no wonlt get enough for our house to leave us with a deposit out of the equity for another

also just found out taht we can;t remortgage to extend as dh is self emplyed and now our mortgage company will only lend upto 75% ltv arrrrrgggggghhhhhh
