what sort of wedding band would fit with this engagement ring?

Would like some suggestions or input from those more savvy than me about jewellery as I am struggling to find a wedding band that can fit alongside my wedding ring. It is a low setting so I can't really get anything that will sit underneath it, as it were, unless very thin indeed. If I go for a thicker band then it sits so far below my engagement ring and leaves a large gap.

Is a spacer ring an option? Wear it on a different hand? Any other ideas?

I would prefer to avoid a wedding band that has an atypical shape or one that is designed to fit around the ring as I would like something more traditional.

Neither are my real engagement/wedding rings as both far too big, but the amber ring just out and therefore isn’t swallowed under the wedding ring. I wonder if you could resign the ring so it’s the other way round? The shape is awkward and I know what you mean by wearing an atypical shape wedding ring on its own.

Honestly@allthehillsandallthetrees your engagement ring is absolutely beautiful and should stand alone. Move it to your other hand. Get a wedding band which you love, maybe matching, which you could add an eternity ring to in years to come…..

Thank you for the picture. It's a possibility, I am going to look into it, but as it's such an old ring I am reluctant to play around with the setting. If it was modern then I would have no hesitation.

Thank you that's really kind of you. I love it, and feel very lucky to have been given such a beautiful ring, especially one with history (not that I know what the history is!). Yes I am going with this - it has been decided - will move it to the other hand.

I think I will wear wedding band on right hand (I am right handed) and keep engagement ring on left hand given that emeralds are a softer stone than others (diamonds for example) so would prefer to wear on non-dominant hand.

Thanks again!

You could practice with a cheap silver band before you decide. Here are a couple of photos of a similar set up.
