To be annoyed that according to our mortgage application I am a housewife?

They have no category for SAHM (or carer or whatever) so either I am unemployed (as if!) or a housewife. FGS if I was a housewife then my house would be much tidier!

yeah, but each and every single label we can come up with is going to annoy someone. Housewife irks the OP because it implies housework to her. SAHM bothers some, because there is actually a 'W' element involved in caring for children. WOHM isn't accurate because some people do salaried work from home. 'Domestic Manager/Engineer' is (sorry) rather ridiculously contrived and not at all clear.

I like to call myself an accoutnat on forms. Don't actually do any accoutns anymore though - should they have "people who trained as accountants but are doing a different commerical role now" as a category? I think so.

DH made himself into a limited company recently so now I can myself down as company director. I do answer his phone for him sometimes 'Luxembourg Widgets, how can I HELP yew' and give him sound commercial advice, and we often have lunchtime 'meetings' in the bed boardroom so I reckon I am more than fulfilling the role.
