To be a little freaked out?

Wasn't sure where to post this so sorry, here I am!

We'd been out for tea tonight so back and in bed a little later. My DS (3) wanted me to lie next to him while he went to sleep so I did. I thought I heard him say something along the lines of "little boy not yet, mummy and daddy are here/awake". I asked him what he'd just said and he giggled. I asked him who he was talking to/if he said "little boy" and he said yes. I stupidly asked where the little boy was and he said sleeping on the floor. I again stupidly asked if he was there now and he said yes. DS didn't seem remotely bothered, but I've not told DH for tonight as he'll freak out.

AIBU to be slightly freaked out by this myself even though I know lots of children have imaginary friends when they are younger? I'm sure lots of others have stories like these!! Please tell me them as I'm a wee bit nosey/fascinated!

How creepy op! Years ago I heard my son who was maybe four years old chatting away to nobody in the bathroom.. When I pointed out to him that he was talking to himself he said That's so mean mummy, Rebeca is here!! She got lost and now they won't let her back in!! She lives here but she's very sad!
I'd also hear him in his room at night telling her to be quiet because it's bedtime and he'd play with her in the morning.
He's 23 now and he doesn't remember any of this.
The weirdest part is (this sounds made up but I promise it isn't)
When I was 13 I babysat two little girls at my home, they were top and tailing in my bedroom and I was downstairs, I heard them start screaming/crying and rushed upstairs to see what was wrong, they both looked terrified and were pointing at the corner of the room, when I asked what was wrong they both said (they were around 5/6) There's a scary girl called Rebecca in here and she is scaring us!!
This was over twenty years before my son said the same name.

Poor Rebecca..

Oh wow!! Now that's creepy! Was it the same house or did Rebecca travel?!
@Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate
Different house, 22 years and 80 miles apart. Seems like Rebecca the ghost followed me.

Wow, that is freaky!! No spooky happenings ever happened other than children being able to see her?!

Not since I moved out of the house where my son used to talk to her, but in that house loads happened..
Things moving by themselves and I know this sounds crazy but I'd sometimes feel the weight of a person sit on the end of my bed at night.
Have you asked your son about this little boy he's been talking to?

I've read about people feeling weight on their bed before! No, I've not asked him and he hasn't mentioned it since, so I think I'll leave it there for now 🤣

My kids had Mr Tomblin, he used talk to them in the early mornings, it was a name I’d never heard before. We found the name in a local grave yard afterwards and found that there was a family Tomblin who had lived previously in our Victorian house, I never saw him or heard him but I could hear my kids conversations with him as they played in their room in the early mornings…

I completely forgot about this post so I was obviously BU.. nothing has been mentioned since!

How strange that yours only appeared in the morning! When did they stop talking to him?

When we moved. I’ve read that children are very attuned (sixth sense) until the age of twelve. When the world crashes in and rules and schooling become more prevalent and their left brain more engaged. It was quite benign, they became quite busy chatterboxes it was lovely to listen to.
