I’ll start by saying I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong and this is first time in 3 years and 500 transactions this has happened on Vinted.

Put a dress on to sell. Priced reasonably but I’m always willing to accept a good offer. Someone offers £2 below asking price do fair enough I accept.

I hear nothing more from, go out for the afternoon, come home and I’ve had another offer for same amount. So I accept that too and that person immediately buys.

A couple of hours later I get a pretty irate message from the first buyer saying I’d made an obligation to sell to her by accepting her offer and I’ve behaved appallingly. That I hadn’t given her the opportunity to pay for the item - this was around 5/6 hours after her offer was accepted. Furthermore she’s reporting me to Vinted for ‘poor form’ and hopes they take action against me.

Quite frankly I think she’s being ridiculous and if she was that interested should have purchased as soon as I accepted her offer but just wanted others views.

I suppose it’s a case of snooze you lose imo

Agree with PP who said some Vinted buyers are nuts - I sold an item recently and didn't notice it had a tiny white mark on it.

Buyer got in touch positively irate about it. I asked if she'd like to return it or possibly wash it first to see if it came out. She went nuclear and started sending me really aggressive messages about how I should have washed it before sending it, I was a liar etc etc.

She then left me negative feedback saying I'd sent a stained item but she couldn't be bothered to return it. It was a kids designer shirt and sweater combo that would cost around £180 brand new. She paid a fiver for the set.

She should've asked you to 'reserve' the item if she wasn't able to commit to buying it immediately. There's nothing stopping another buyer coming along and purchasing at full listed price, even after you've accepted an offer.

I deleted my vinted account after 6 months as I sent a brand new pair of shoes to a buyer (I bought for £45) for £12. She sawed the heels off and then wanted a refund! Vinted sided with her despite me showing them original dates photos of what they looked like before posting.

What on earth did she gain from that?!
