Year 1/2

Esme20 · 26/07/2024 21:25

End of reception if they’re a bit ahead of their peers / year one if on par/ year two if a little
behind? Why OP?

Msgiggles30 · 26/07/2024 21:26

Year 1

Countrygirlxo · 26/07/2024 21:26

End of reception or year 1

Countrygirlxo · 26/07/2024 21:27

Just seen full stops and capital letters for names, id guess year 1

exprecis · 26/07/2024 21:28

Year 1, or potentially an advanced reception child

cadburyegg · 26/07/2024 21:28

Year 1/2, my ds2's writing is similar and he has just finished y1. He is behind apparently though

Cyclingforcake · 26/07/2024 21:29

My year 1 can’t write that well but some of her friends can. The punctuation is good, there’s decent gaps between the words and they’re using the lines. Year 2.

VioletMountainHare · 26/07/2024 21:30

Primary 3 or 4.

WombatStewForTea · 26/07/2024 21:30

One very short piece isn't enough to go on.

forgotthewords · 26/07/2024 21:30

I think end of year 2 going into year 3. Really surprised by some of these!

RunningThroughMyHead · 26/07/2024 21:32

Year 2, mainly due to the neatness of the writing. Potentially year 1.

ThursdayTomorrow · 26/07/2024 21:33

Impossible to tell, writing is varied in primary, it could be KS1 or KS2.

Arrivapercy · 26/07/2024 21:33

Year 1. End of first term/start of second.

WGACA · 26/07/2024 21:33

Year 2

JumpinJellyfish · 26/07/2024 21:34

This looks just like my son’s writing - he is a summer born and has just finished Year 1 (and got age expected for writing in his report).

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 26/07/2024 21:34

Year 1

Arrivapercy · 26/07/2024 21:34

End of year 2 I'd expect to be writing more, better handwriting and spelling.

Changethenamey · 26/07/2024 21:35

Gosh I was going to say year 2/3/4 but my children are all summer born and all delayed in reading/writing. My DS is about to go into year 2 and still doesn’t use finger spaces consistently, there’s no way he could write like this 😶

Sdpbody · 26/07/2024 21:37

Year 1 going to start Year 2 in Sept.

LuckysDadsHat · 26/07/2024 21:37

Y1 or 2.

Abigaillovesholidays · 26/07/2024 21:38

Could be a child about to start year 1 in September or a child who has just finished year 1.

sparklesandsparkles · 26/07/2024 21:40

Year 1.

Newuser75 · 26/07/2024 21:40

I'd say year one or two due to the punctuation and capital letters.

Laundryliar · 26/07/2024 21:45

To be honest OP has given no indication of whether the writing was totally independent of adult support or whether there was some/a lot of scaffolding. There are some reception children able to write like this. There are some for whom this would be yr3. Writing isnt only about academic capability there is also physical capability involved with hand dexterity and motor controm, and children mature at different ages.
