Raining when we are due to go on holiday

We are going to Pembrokeshire in Wales for a week next Saturday and so far the 10 day forecast is showing rain everyday except Thursday.

Feeling really down about it, I had a beach holiday in mind 😞

Get to Mountain Warehouse and buy some cheap rainproof trousers for the kids (if you don’t already have them) and maybe even yourself.
take wellies and rain macs and you can still have fun on the beach in the rain. Get some nets and buckets and go hunting in rock pools.

the kids will still love it, it probably won’t rain constantly all day. You just have to manage your expectations.

I grew up in Wales, beach days are still possible in the rain, just jumping in puddles rather than laying in the sun!

@EnchantedElf

urgh no thanks!

A beach holiday in Wales? We stayed in the UK for every holiday when the children were small. We had one week of good weather in their entire childhood. That was in Bournemouth. Encased in fog at North Norfolk, sitting in the drizzle at Woolacombe, visiting caves in Wales trying to get out of the rain, yes I remember it well. Good luck.

I think it’s because every holiday we had as kids in the UK (Wales, Dorset, Devon) were always beach holidays and we were lucky we had lots of very hot days.

It’s also a bit annoying that this coming week looks really nice - sun most days and showing no cloud. So typical! We picked the wrong week!

We camp a lot in Wales. We never consider it a “sun holiday”, we just don’t have the weather to have endless beach days. That said, Wales is amazing. So beautiful and so many places to explore. As PP have said, you need to have all the weather gear and plan by the day. At least you can dry your gear out! In a tent it’s a bloody nightmare but the kids still remember the day we couldn’t leave the tent one year due to 60 mph gale force winds (and we were by the beach)! I didn’t love it so much!

If you wanted a "lying on the beach" holiday, why the hell did you choose Wales? GrinGrinGrin it's hardly a surprise if it rains!!!

It is Wales, I think you have to expect it may not be beach weather.
