to think mother and baby spaces...

should be for mothers with babies and toddlers, not for women with much older children (10ish) who are perfectly capable of walking and getting out of the car themselves.

i had to struggle with ds (8weeks)in a normal space because some woman parked in mother and baby with her able bodied children because she wanted to be right near the shop

same goes for aeroplane boarding, toddler DOES NOT MEAN a stroppy git of a 15yr old boy

SparklyGothKat · 13/04/2008 15:04

oh, btw if I park in the M&T space with DS1 who is 10 and looks 'normal' but actually has a disability, its because i can't get in the disabled spaces

SparklyGothKat · 13/04/2008 15:04

pmsl @ WT

Nbg · 13/04/2008 15:05

just park in a disabled bay instead

lulumama · 13/04/2008 15:05

they are a privilege not a right

park further away from the store, on the end of a bay, so you can open your door right out

lulumama · 13/04/2008 15:05

NBG, are you very bored ?

frootloop · 13/04/2008 15:07

no worries frootloop !just search the archives

these threads usually descend into chaos as someone always pops in to complain about there being more disabled spaces and using those instead..

ends in tears usually!

SparklyGothKat · 13/04/2008 15:11

Yes FL it is an explosive topic. It normally starts like your OP, then it will go onto disabled bays and how the disabled people park in them, but we can't park in the disabled bays, and then we have full meltdown..

frootloop · 13/04/2008 15:18

im never posting a topic ever again, this always happens to me

Oh good some Sunday afternoon entertainment

Actually, I think I uncovered the real reason for P&T parking spaces the other day, they are actually for people who can't park and who would otherwise run up huge amounts of insurance claims due to their unfortunate disability. Or is it just near me that they are filled by people who somehow manage to park in the hatched areas around the space?
