It's beautiful! Not just the accent but the dialect. I love it, anyone else?

I love North Eastern accents. Warm and friendly. Always cheers me up. In fact I just had a lovely woman on a helpline call just now, and it's put me in such a good mood. :)

@KirstenBlest I'm aware of that. I'm not really a fan of any of them.

I'm not keen on a broad vernacular from anywhere, but this especially includes the Scouse accent.
However I love it in a mild, well-spoken form.

Can't stand the Scouse accent at all....but I love the Geordie accent!

WhereAreWeNow · 05/08/2024 21:51

I've always had a soft spot for Scouse too.

As in old?

Kleptronic · 06/08/2024 02:37

@Loopylouie as in about to cark it, not necessarily old

Dita73 · 06/08/2024 03:33

It’s the worst noise ever. I actually have a strong reaction to it,I hate it that much. If someone came on the tv with a scouse accent,I’d have to change channel immediately. It almost makes me nauseous

@Loopylouie oh mate I just realised we were at crossed purposes there, you meant 'plazzy' which is Plastic Scouser à la John Bishop (very Scouse but not from Scouseland at all).

Lazzy also has meaning (in Scouseland) as in 'I'm done in me, I'm on me lazzies'

Many apologies for my confusion 😁
