These are my comfort shows and I rewatch them CONSTANTLY. Yes I do have adhd.

I find I can’t get through the first episode of new series, I keep trying but come back to these all the time. I need something gripping, but doesn’t take a season to get into it.

Any suggestions would be so welcome!

Shannen 🥲

I know 😔 Prue was always my favourite, I was gutted she was killed off. I did like Rose but would have loved Shannen to be the one to stay. I was 18 when the show came out and I just loved it!

Did you listen to her podcasts in recent years, esp with Holly. I really wished she had beaten her cancer but that bastard disease shows no mercy.

Just thought, if you like small town coziness, Sweet Magnolias and Virgin River are another 2.

I also love Yellowstone. Not sweet, not cozy but good drama and gorgeous aesthetics.

If you don't mind something rather old, Cold Feet which was on ITV was also a fave.

Cherubs4 · 19/07/2024 19:03

I loved the good wife and also loved:
Drop Dead Diva
Gossip Girl
Suits

The Good Fight!

Definitely. I think it's better than the Good Wife.

Coffeesnob11 · 19/07/2024 19:18

I have adhd and just finished Monk and am now on Psych.

Stardust1985 · 19/07/2024 19:23

This is us is just phenomenal. There's also a podcast which they have recently started called 'That Was Us'. It's an episode by episode walkthrough and reflection and it's so good. They try not to give spoilers, although definitely do so if wait until you're a couple of seasons in before listening

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 19/07/2024 19:23

I have ADHD too. I love Greys, also love Private Practice and Station19.

The West Wing is also a good shout. And ER.

Turns out us ADHDers have similar taste in TV shows.

I also love Air Crash Investigation

ScottishDora · 19/07/2024 19:39

Having watched both, I would also recommend suits, white collar, gilmour girls, and house.

TeamPolin · 19/07/2024 19:40

TV series version of The Lincoln Lawyer.

I loved the Good Wife. Will Gardiner is my secret crush! I have also enjoyed Shitt's Creek, Succession, Blue Lights, Vera.

Wonderwall23 · 19/07/2024 19:51

These are my two favourites as well.

I also like Prison Break, Dexter and Criminal Minds.

The Good Place?

Droolylabradors · 19/07/2024 19:55

Oooh this is a handy thread, I'm about to have 6 weeks on the sofa after an operation.

Anyone know which season the good fight abruptly ended on here due to covid? I will buy the remaining seasons on amazon...

This is US was actually life changing. Remarkable TV.

SouthLondonMum22 · 19/07/2024 19:55

Charmed
Supernatural
Chicago Fire
Manifest
Arrow

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 19/07/2024 20:05

I think we would be very good friends OP, I've lost count of the amount of times I've watched both the Good Wife and Greys they are my two go to watch and rewatch on a loop programmes.

I also LOVED This is US and reccomend it to everyone but I'm not sure I will watch it all the way through a second time because part of its beauty is the emotional personal journey it takes you on as a watcher.

The Marvellous Mrs Maisel I've watched a couple of times through and is definitely in the same league but just not enough episodes to make it comfort/background

I think you will also enjoy slow horses, lessons in Chemistry and Ted Lasso on Apple TV.

Royal Pains is an easy medical watch.

Goliath is ace for a legal drama.

RedOrangePink · 20/07/2024 08:01

Boston Legal (takes a bit to find its feet though)

Purpleturtle45 · 21/07/2024 17:17

This is us, best show I have ever seen!

LizzieBennett73 · 21/07/2024 17:28

Chicago Fire and Chicago Med are brilliant, and lots of seasons of them!
Virgin River on Netflix.
9-1-1 Lone Star is very gripping and well written (not so keen on 9-1-1).

I lost my way with This is Us, must try and get back into it.

This is us, best show I have ever seen!

What I really like about This is Us is the fact that from the start, the creator had in his head "this is the story we want to tell, and it's 6 seasons long". And then they just did that.

So often great shows go on so long that they end up losing their way, and the quality dips (Grey's Anatomy is an obvious example).

This is Us was popular and I imagine there was a temptation to push it out longer, and I appreciate the way he basically said this is the story I planned, and that's enough.

Oh my god I watched Royal Pains years ago. I wanted to win the lottery and live in the Hamptons.

Re: TGF. It has a couple of series where it loses itself, then it gets great again. I was genuinely gutted when it concluded.

Is season 6 available on any uk streaming channels do you know?

Sorry for the delay! In a short answer no. Well it appears that it's impossible unless you...go to other means...🤫 otherwise you have to have a multi-regional DVD player and buy an imported DVD from Amazon UK that costs around £40😬 Frankly I don't know why no one will show the last series on UK TV! It follows Diane's story arc to a good conclusion and is fun. Channel 4 or somebody HAS to show it. They showed reruns of Law & Order fifty million times and apparently had the rights so I don't know why.
