These are my comfort shows and I rewatch them CONSTANTLY. Yes I do have adhd.

I find I can’t get through the first episode of new series, I keep trying but come back to these all the time. I need something gripping, but doesn’t take a season to get into it.

Any suggestions would be so welcome!

Dexter

justjuggling · 18/07/2024 23:01

Chicago Fire is good.

RTHJ14 · 18/07/2024 23:04

Suits and The Rookie are my current faves! I also really liked Riviera.. stunning scenery & fashion! I also struggle to get past the first episode of things so will follow with interest!

Coatsoff42 · 18/07/2024 23:04

I love both these series!

I recommend:
West Wing
Schitts Creek
for strong female characters

House
Good Doctor
for medical drama

There’s a spin-off show for Elsbeth from the good wife which will begin airing on Sky on the 23rd July. I’ve been waiting for ages for it!

Ooh I've been waiting for that to come out over here!

OP, I recommend private practice if you've not already watched it - it's great. I also like station 19. And the good fight is good as well.
Aside from spin offs - have you watched This is Us?

grossedouteurgh · 18/07/2024 23:06

This is us
Mrs Maisel
Gilmore girls
Private practice

Uiommpourting · 18/07/2024 23:07

Better call Saul.

YesItsMe44 · 18/07/2024 23:08

Bull
Madam Secretary
The Affair
Revenge

toomanytonotice · 18/07/2024 23:08

have you watched ER? Way better than Grey’s- and you’ll see where many of the storylines came from!
Chicago hope from the same era is excellent but lost the rating war.

code black is excellent.
I recently watched Critical which I enjoyed, also Malpractice. Both British.

the resident is great.
i loved saving hope.

Transplant new but really enjoyed.

the 9-1-1’s are good, think I slightly prefer lone star (rob lowe!)

Uiommpourting · 18/07/2024 23:08

Ozark. There’s very strong female characters in Ozark.

MillsAndBalloons · 18/07/2024 23:10

Firefly lane, first thing I've really loved watching in years. I'm like you and usually watch a couple of things on repeat

CurbsideProphet · 18/07/2024 23:10

Orange Is The New Black?

Gilmore Girls is my comfort watch 🙂
I loved This Is Us, but it's not a quick pace.

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 18/07/2024 23:12

E.R is one million times better than Grey’s and I like Grey’s!

I’m rewatching it for the first time in about 10 years and I forgot just how bloody brilliant it is.

All seasons on 4OD or whatever it’s called now and also Sky On Demand.

PaleBrunette · 18/07/2024 23:12

Literally any other show. Just watch any other show and it will be better.

BibbleandSqwauk · 18/07/2024 23:22

New Amsterdam. West Wing. Mad Men.

DysonSphere · 18/07/2024 23:31

Law & Order/Law & Order Special Victims Unit if you haven't already.

Cadela · 18/07/2024 23:52

I actually love you all. I think I’m going to start with This Is Us - I need a new comfort show!

And ER and Gilmore Girls and all the Shonda Rimes verse 😅

I hope I make it past the first ep!

I will recommend my personal favourites to watch many times:
Charmed - 8 seasons
Supernatural - 15 seasons
I've lost count the amount of times I've watched them. They're my go to nostalgia shows now.

MulberryBushRoundabout · 19/07/2024 00:02

This Is Us is my favourite show ever. If you like it I’d also try Brothers and Sisters and Six Feet Under.

New Amsterdam is very good, a bit Greys lite.

I agree that if you haven’t seen ER, it is well worth starting at the beginning. Excellent show. Over 300 episodes so should keep you busy!

Suits is watchable and slick, didn’t make me care about any of the characters much.

Cadela · 19/07/2024 00:05

Bloody hell “honey I am the best of the best and I swear to you on the lives of my children”

Immediate sobs. Thank you for suggesting this. It’s been so long since I loved a series immediately!

Station 19 is superb, Gray's crossovers in it too!

Another shout for Supernatural as well.

OhcantthInkofaname · 19/07/2024 01:22

The Good Fight, a

continuation of The Good Wife then Elsbeth.

Yes!

Final series of good fight never been shown in the uk.

Private practice is worth a watch -I rewatched all 6 seasons during lockdown.

The rookie is pretty good.
