If you don't reach for your phone the moment you wake up, what do you do?

I have to have at least an hour between waking up and getting out of bed for the day.

I can't remember a time when I had to wake up and get up straight away or in a short space of time.

I'm never late because I set my alarm super early to build in lolling and phone time.

I'm on my phone the whole time. Checking social media, a bit of YouTube, a bit of Mumsnet.

Nothing enriching or valuable.

If you do some thing other than doom scroll when you wake up, what is it, and how can I develop it?

Help needed please!!

I get up! I hate staying in bed once I'm awake. On work days I get ready and then go to work. At the weekend I usually go downstairs, make a cup of tea and knit in peace until everyone else gets up. I would never set my alarm earlier than I needed to, because my alarm goes at 7 and I'm always awake before it goes off anyway!

I reach for my phone just to turn the alarm off, then snooze until another alarm 10 mins later. Then stumble out of bed, loo etc then make a pot of tea, put the radio on (music), empty some of what's in the dishwasher, and sit down for breakfast. Only then do I go on my phone, and I usually only check BBC news website.

I am addicted to screen time, but mostly via laptop in the evening. What helped me is not having any social media on my phone (only via laptop), and I even turned off notifications for emails so I only check those a couple of times a day (most are marketing crap anyway).

I dont have my phone in my bedroom, but when i get downstairs i make a cuppa, put on radio 4 and stare out of my kitchen window for ages, before i start rushing around like a loon.. Only then do i check phone for texts etc.
