To think dermaplaning is risky!

I have a very fuzzy face. It’s the pale peach fuzz type but some bits are thicker than others and the whole thing really bothers me.

I want to try dermaplaning, but I’m scared it’ll grow back blunter and more obvious, or darker, so getting it done will lead to a lifetime of regular maintenance, I don’t want to have to shave my face daily!!

So mumsnet, for those of you who’ve tried it, what do you think? Has it made a big difference to your confidence? Does make up go on better? Should I take the plunge?

Am I being unreasonable to think it’s too risky?

Dermaplaning is life changing. It has improved my skin so much! I do it about once a fortnight so it’s not too much upkeep. The hair does grow with a blunt end but it looks exactly the same unless you’re up close with a magnifying mirror . I’ve been doing it for at least 4 years and there’s been no change in my amount of hair or thickness or colour. Mine is just the pale peach fuzz apart from my upper lip which it darker, I probably touch up my upper lip once a week. But I was already doing that prior to dermaplaning my whole face.

I had it done professionally, and I now do it myself with the FFS dermaplane kit, would recommend. It does grow back a little bit more like stubble, but it hasn't got thicker or changed colour.

I love it. My daughters do mine.

Hair doesn't grow back darker and thicker, that is an old wives tail. It will feel thicker because the hair is cut off and blunt at the end, it's no longer tapered.

I dermaplane my face and it's great.

Yanbu. I've had a lifetime of excess hair stress. I daren't touch my peach fuzz.
