can I wear Birkenstocks to a wedding?

Wedding is outdoors (or at least partially outdoors) on a farm, and the legal ceremony has already happened - this is the celebration of their marriage. They have sent out proper invites (if that matters). Not sure if it is too informal or not? I don't want to wear heels and I do not currently have any other flat shoes that go with my dress so would have to buy some tomorrow if the answer to my question is a resounding 'no'!

Thanks in advance

The only reason I wouldn't wear Birkenstocks to a wedding on a farm was that I'd be worried what I might step in! 🐄💩

If I saw someone wearing Birkenstocks or comfortable and practical footwear at a dressy occasion I would assume that it was because, like me, they can't wear heels or other impractical shoes because they hurt their feet.

I wouldn't judge them at all.

Have you seen some of the high fashion footwear at the moment?! Clumpy and chunky soles are in.
If you hadn't mentioned the dreaded Birkenstock name I bet noone would have cared!

Oh god @TizerorFizz

I think you might be my mother in law 👋
