To really dislike Kerry Katona and her useless parenting skills?

I used to feel sorry for Kerry and all the bad things I read in the press as we all know that what the papers say can be a load of old rubbish but on a number of occasions I've been unfortunate to catch the MTV show which basically follows her in her daily life at home (very exciting, I know) and I've grown to really dislike her.

First thing is she had this huge bump (carrying her latest baby) and had a cigarette in her mouth. Fair enough, it's up to her if she puts her own health at risk, but her baby's life too? That is bloody irresponsible and selfish!

I don't know where her 2 eldest kids are, as they are never on the program (maybe ex has custody of them?) but that little baby, Heidi, never seems to see her parents. She is always dumped with the nannny! I know this program is a tiny snippet of their lives but really, Heidi is NEVER around Kerry or the babies dad/Kerry's husband...think he's called Mark?

(abusive father figures, surely? )

Squiffy · 09/04/2008 14:00

Greesleeves called it right way down this thread. It's Bear-baiting. And just because they aren't intelligent enough to refuse offers from the media, and just because they get paid to have their dignity ripped off them doesn't make it any less nauseating when everyone goes in for the kill.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2008 14:05

how patronising, to assume that they aren't intelligent. who are you, mrs einstein?

mrsruffallo · 09/04/2008 14:07

No one denied that they weren't publicity seeking Aitch, but it is quite immoral to expose someone who has mental health issues in such an expolitative fashion.

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2008 14:11

well you should direct your comments at her uncle max, then, he's the one phoning up heat mag when she goes into labour. it's a game, fgs, and it's a game that i bet if you asked her KK would say that she's winning. because for all her mental health problems i bet most people are lovely to her face, the bad stuff is easy enough to ignore and she is a millionairess. why wouldn't that be an attractive life for a kid from her shitey background?

mrsruffallo · 09/04/2008 14:12

can't quite belive the who are you mrs einstein? comment LOLOL!!

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2008 14:12
Wink
geordieminx · 09/04/2008 14:14

Wasnt it reported that she had severe money problems?

To be fair she hasnt done much in recent years apart from Iceland and a book - not sure how much they would net her? Enough for a few bags of coke?

mrsruffallo · 09/04/2008 14:15

That's probably true Aitch
To be honest, I don't have a lot of sympathy for any of these types of celebs and am tired of hearing about them
Then why am I on this thread you might ask?
And you would be right

chrissnow · 09/04/2008 14:38

MsSparkle - Just to clarify my point about the pg lady I knew. I was certainly not defending smoking whilst pg. I couldn't quite get my head around how she thought 'clean' bf would somehow undo the harm done whilst smoking. I don't think I worded my earlier post very well.

Enid · 09/04/2008 16:23

the media do have some responsibility - and IMHO it is ingenuous to say that they do not - although agree there is a certain amount of feeding off each other (i know there is a clever word for that ) - they take a decision to print paparazzi photos of KK in her lowest moments to make money - there is a morality tale in there somewhere.

but then I hate newspapers and never buy them. And now my 8 year old dd can read I have taken the decision not to have heat or ok in the house anymore either.

Enid · 09/04/2008 16:24

do I mean disingenuous

probably

sorry I'll shut up now

AitchTwoOh · 09/04/2008 20:29

i'm not saying that it has no role to play, not at all, just that everyone (celeb, PR, journalist) is providing a service and the end-users are the people who buy the mags. and imo KK might look at pals of hers who also spent time in care and rightfully think 'haven't i done well?'

R2G · 09/04/2008 23:42

Greensleeves. Yes I did mean bright I did not mean brassy. I didnt find her brassy at all she was very very funny and also very caring. Ok it was only a customer service BT sales job she wasnt a lawyer or anything but she was outperforming everyone else in the group. Clearly her charisma got her on in life. She has had absolutely no-one to count on. Anyway I'm not posting anymore just don't like the sneering why can't i say she is bright, I did actually meet her in person and spend 3 months working with her.

amytheearwaxbanisher · 09/04/2008 23:57

i havnt seen her parenting skills only her nannys but the smoking wiyh children in the house and one still in you probably isnt a good idea i more pity her than hate her poor girl

Greensleeves · 10/04/2008 09:18

R2G I was referring to KP not KK.

But my post was unnecessarily bitchy, so I apologise for it anyway. I let myself down when I get drawn into the Colosseum-style media circus that surrounds these people.

R2G · 10/04/2008 23:55

Have to agree with you there Greensleeves its wrong wrong wrong. I havn't seen the KK show as don have the MTV channel but have seen KP. I do watch it to flake out to but afterwards think why did you watch that pile of shit?! (I know the answer it's because I can't bear my husband's snoring so stay up til I'm knackered )

shabster · 11/04/2008 00:09

My dear friends husband was bi-polar. Last year 3 weeks before their third child was born and on their 2nd wedding anniversary he took his own life in horrendous circumstances. Dont even know why I am joining in this thread cause I have no time for either Jordan or Kerry Katona - just need to say that in REAL LIFE - Bi polar is an awful thing to try and live with.

I am trying my best to use my remote control to switch off programmes about these fools. My wonderful REAL LIFE friend needs my support not these so called celebrities.

BBBee · 11/04/2008 00:40

shabster - I am very sorry to hear about our friend and her family.

I read somewhere that smoking is a form of self medication for some psychological disorders.

BBBee · 11/04/2008 00:40
