Health visitor is a waste of time

A need a little rant.

I'm getting seriously wound up by my health visitor. I see absolutely no point in going to the appointments, she is completely incompetent.

The centre is a 40 minute walk away, so it takes a fair amount of effort to get there and back. It started when my daughter was 5 days old and I had to walk to the appointment with my stitches. I mean surely it's in the name Health 'visitor'.

At every appointment she has been useless with broken English. I find her incredibly patronising. She takes phonecalls during appointments, and is generally rude and judgy in my opinion.

I got a phonecall from her yesterday saying, "you've missed your appointment again" in a condescending voice. (For ref, the first appointment she cancelled, not me). I asked her what appointment. She hadn't notified me, no text, no letter. Nothing. She then said I had to attend an appointment today at 1pm (less than 24 h notice).

I know it's a little thing, but I really can't wait until we don't have to see her any more. What are other people's experiences? Am I being oversensitive? Anyway....I better wake my baby up from her nap to go this appointment now otherwise we will be in trouble for being late!

My health visitor this time round has been awful! After gaining my trust and offering a bit of support with PND, she then became fixated on a birth mark on my baby's back and told me she was following the 'bruise protocol'. I provided her with evidence from my maternity notes of my baby's birth mark but she said that wasn't enough and referred us to the safeguarding team! The stress this caused was unbelievable. I will never trust health visitors again.

I’d ignore all health visitors as it’s a simpler option. Mine were useless for both births. Used GPs if required

Sorry but I have never said anything about competency of professionals. You however seem to think because you experienced, hospital once you are the medical care guru. Just like people, some are shit some are not. To note the plural of midwife is midwives or are you going to argue the toss about that too.

My health visitor has referred my 3 year old to 3 different specialists speech therapy, audiology and specialist health visitor all 3 have said no development concerns at all I saw my health visitor with my 2 year old and the same night I get a message from the specialist health visitor asking to come and repeat the assessment she did on my 3 year old to pass information onto a nursery my son is not even going to my normal health visitor is obsessed with saying there is something wrong with my boy she's been corrected 3 times and he's my fourth child I have no concerns about his development I never have it's driving me crazy she just won't stop
