Should I push a refund for these nails?

Hi I’ve had acrylics done today, I already had to message her after I’d left as my nails on the one hand were very poorly painted! First pic for reference, I’ve since been home and had a proper look and I’m still unhappy. Polish is uneven and patchy. Some nails are quite far from the cuticle! Some nails also feel sore. I’ve spoken to the technician who said she’d rectify and if I still wasn’t happy she’d refund, AIBU to push for refund as I work full time and struggle to find spare time to get it redone now. It was a special treat to myself and Ive never used this nail tech before x

Are they supposed to be that square?? They look like shovels.

ColdExtremities · 01/06/2024 20:04

That’s a really poor job.

I’d ask her to remove, refund, and then you should get them redone by someone else.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 01/06/2024 20:04

Absolutely push for a refund, they’re shocking!

LongSinceGotUpAndGone · 01/06/2024 20:04

That doesn't look like a professional manicure to me.

FUBAR77 · 01/06/2024 20:04

Yeh refund - there’s no way you’d want those infilled either. Straight off and start again!

Really rude. I assume OP wanted that shape as she hasn't raised any issues with the shape

Thanks after is already complained the first time I did feel uncomfortable like I was an in convenience. Also looked a lot worse in natural light! I get my hair done here so don’t want any tension.

Said she’s been doing it 5 years. They feel really heavy and tight aswell. It’s been a while since I’ve had them done but sure they’re not supposed to feel like that.

That looks like a very poor job. Definitely request a refund and go treat yourself somewhere else. Do some research and Google reviews

Thanks I’ve been in touch with someone really highly recommended. She was shocked at the work x

the sore feeling is usually when she has thinned out your own nail too much before applying the acrylic, its a horrible feeling (like pressure)

Tell her you'll tag her on social media with photos of her work unless she wants to just give you a refund.

I’ve messaged her again hopefully she agrees to refund

I agree OP. They are not great , and if she had anything about her- she would offer a refund. I mean why would you go back for a new set, when she cocked up the first! That's just the way it is - offer a new set or refund, whatever the client wants.

Rookangaroo4 · 01/06/2024 22:46

I’m not trained in acrylics, just self taught and I make a better job than that!

Update! She still won’t refund until she’s tried to rectify them 🥹😭
i am wandering if she doesn’t have the funds to refund me 🙈

I wouldn't let her touch your nails again! It sounds like she's damaged them. You might need to go without anything for a while, except for some repair treatment.
