Socks with slides and flip flops

Aarrgghh! These are the new old men in socks and Jesus sandals. Who told people they look good because they don't, they look ridiculous!

If people are comfortable and happy to wear them I’m not sure what the issue is. Stop judging other people for their choices.

Usually I would agree but in this case judgment is entirely justified.

Who decided that anyone has to look good over feeling good?

I applaud comfort over cool.

Happily wearing crocs with socks unless it's hot out because I don't like a cold breeze through my croc holes 😀

I love my socks and crocs! Mega comfy, can walk miles in them and they're cute.

Totally agree and not going to pretend that no one ever judges others on their fashion choice like PPs!

Doesn't bother me, teen boys wear socks with sliders. It's quite trendy I believe.

I must admit though that I do look at peoples feet and footwear. But I cringe when I see people wearing uncomfortable and inappropriate footwear. Like ballet pumps when your feet are going to get soaking wet and cold, or high heels when you can barely walk in them.

Sliders should be banned full stop outside of the house.

Flip flops are acceptable as long as the person wearing them isn't smacking the sole on their heel as it makes me cringe. Deffo no socks though.

Crocs haven't been mentioned by the OP but they are the best things ever and i will die on that hill. I got a pair for gardening, was laughed at by my family so told them all to try them, now they all have a pair apart from my dad who only wears deck shoes or proper shoes.

Who cares? You don’t have to like every trend. It’s not my thing either but why would it bother me if other people wear something?!

I wear socks with Birkenstocks and it's absolute bliss, don't care what anyone else thinks. I've seen lads wearing socks with sliders and crocs so it's fashionable at the moment I think. When my youngest was little he lived in socks and crocs as it's the comfiest combo ever!

I never understood why people would wear socks with sandals.

The idea of sandals is to allow your feet to be cool in hot weather so putting them into socks with this type of footwear defeats the purpose.

Looks hideous too.

Trainers with dresses used to be a complete no no.

Men used to wear thigh leather boots with breeches and lacy shirts.

Absolutely. My DH is in the old man in socks and sandals group, trust me no one needs to see his toes and much as some people don't like it I guarantee they'd been even less keen on his feet.

It does look ridiculous. Fine, everyone can wear what they like, no problem with that, but it looks utterly ridiculous.

It might be trendy on the young and beautiful, but that doesn't mean it's trendy on everyone!

I've also got to the age where comfort is key, however, and, like a pp, far more likely to judge someone wearing footwear that's inappropriate for the weather or the terrain, than socks and sliders.
