To want to skake the 'post and piss off' posters?

I understand sometimes life gets in the way, but I get so pissed off at posters who set off a massive (generally divisive) debate, or do one reponse to a PP, then because the majority of PPs don't agree, the OP pisses off and 867 others are wondering what the f* the OP now thinks. Even when someone @s the OP for a response/update, nothing.
I also understand that it is up to the individual poster, but it's so frustrating! (Maybe I need to get out more!)

I'm glad when they leave because if they don't it usually because they're really upset. I think mumsnet can be a bit toxic in that respect, it's just bullying.

I suppose you can understand someone retreating when they get lots of responses that disagree with them/ tell them they are crazy etc
It's the ones where an interesting post is written and valid questions are asked that would shape advice given in a constructive way and there's zero response.

I have just read one about being rejected for a job but being asked for the presentation, only the original post so far but more context is needed, I understand people are busy but if you start a thread then surely you do it hoping for responses and at a time you are available to reply.

One that I was totally invested in recently was the OP's DH meeting up with an old friend he's never mentioned before.
Can understand why OP eventually disappeared if her marriage was genuinely in tatters as it played out but what did pickle my head was in spite of the fact the OP obviously wasn't coming back hundreds of people continued to post for days afterwards when there really was nothing that hadn't been said multiple times.... why ?

I'm guessing, with some of the CF and parking threads, that word gets back to the miscreant - with some of the very detailed and identifying information that's given.

Entertaining as it is for the rest of us, it must be quite 'awkward' continuing to post about the misdeeds of Linda at number 16 once you know that she's on here reading every word.

A lot of them are wind up and go trolls.
