Rainy Day Film for Pre Schooler

ShareyBobbins · 02/05/2024 20:41

Before the hygge crew get on my backs, this film will be after muddy puddles tomorrow. I am having dental treatment and need a plan to entertain two pre schoolers. So I need a movie suitable for a pair of four year olds, somewhat sensitive.

Posting for traffic. Best ideas please. Bonus points for 2d or slow paced.

Tia

Fair do’s! Good luck 😉

Hang on, you’re having dental treatment and then hosting a play date? Why?!

entirely misses point of thread

Not going to lie but I'm amazed it took this long for someone else to question the bonkers nature of the situation. Surely the other parent should be hosting?

DS is 4 and loves Ice age and Madagascar and Moana is a firm favourite here. Some of the Julia Donaldson adaptations are on prime I believe. We've definitely watched them on some streaming service recently.

Depending on the maturity of them my son loved The Lorax & Meet tthe Robinsons at that age

Iscreamtea · 02/05/2024 21:35

Favourites from when mine were little were Madagascar, all the Cars universe ones Inc Planes movies, Frozen, Happy Feet, Moana is a good one too.

Ice age or moana

@LadyMonicaBaddingham I'm in my 40s and still have nightmares about fantasia

No streaming using a service like Netflix, Disney, all four is fine but any live tv or BBC is not. We don't pay a TV licence for various reasons so we don't watch live TV or get any BBC perks.

We so don't need one then. Dh is a pest. We can absolutely do without Hey Dugee!

Ohh happy feet. Is it swishy camera angles or slower animations?

Oh gosh definitely not the fox and the hound! I'm still traumatised several decades later!

Happy feet is quite sweet but quite swishy.

Probably more swishy camera angles tbh but it has some very funny moments.

Bolt is a good one too.

You need a TV licence to stream anything entertainment wise do you not?

We have one, but where I am from , noone does and it is not a big deal. I have always seen it as kind of voluntary and wondered why dh insists on one, because we don't watch live TV and we did not watch the BBC at all. Though now we have a toddler, so do.

You only need a TV licence if watching live TV (streaming or through digital aerial) and watching anything on BBC iplayer... If you just watch Netflix, Prime, Disney+ etc you don't need one. You can even watch all the catch up/boxsets on ITV, 5 and Channel 4, as long as you don't watch them as live streaming.
