I would like to try some collagen . Back of my hands are ooking wrinkly, despite using SPF and I'm hoping it might help my knees too (mild osteoarthritis). Has anyone had any noticeable results using collagen?

I use hunter gatherer bovine, tastes crap but seems to have really helped my dodgy knee (and bladder prolapse as a welcome side effect)

NippyCrab · 02/05/2024 22:02

I've used collagen and I'm using Absolute collagen liquid sachets just now. I have seen a difference on my hair and face, not as tired looking and my lines are finer. I've also tried Vida Glow which was good. I bought Hunter and Gather and it's disgusting. It's a powder and I've personally found it difficult to blend. The bovine does work for joints, I have osteoarthritis and did feel a difference. I couldn't stomach the H&G marine powder, it was overly fishy in smell and taste, they say its not but yep it's gross i binned a full bag.
Marine is the one to go for if you decide to try any collagen.

HumanbyDesign · 02/05/2024 22:04

Ancient and brave - Powder or capsules. Noticed joints were less achy within weeks!

buffyslayer · 02/05/2024 22:05

Hunter gather bovine I can only stomach mixed in a smoothie (berries, milk, flavoured protein powder)

I dunno how they say it's tasteless and it also smells really strong

PieonaBarm · 02/05/2024 22:06

Willpowders. It's Grass fed Swiss Bovine and completely traceable. 100% collagen. Dissolves tastelessly into any liquid including cold water, soup, spaghetti Bol, yoghurt and so on. I have it in coffee. For the quality is also really fairly priced.

Be careful of Marine, it's usually got flavourings in because otherwise it tastes fishy, and has all kinds of stuff in it from sewage and microplastics that are in the sea and the fish are exposed to, isn't traceable or sustainable.

I am interested in how the collagen helped with your bladder?

HelenHywater · 02/05/2024 22:18

I have hunter gather bovine and marine and find them both taste fine in my morning coffee. Only been taking them a week so haven't noticed a difference yet.

They do aggravate my gut but hope that will die down soon.

Am going to try the Ancient and Brave stuff next (as have a discount code).

Ancient & Brave

Springchickenonion · 02/05/2024 22:48

Literally just started this week. Hoping it will help with my joint pain. I use sunnah supplements. But only because its halal.

Willpowders also have a halal version of their Grass fed Swiss Bovine collagen if you wanted to check out an alternative.

Jinglesomeoftheway · 03/05/2024 06:01

@PieonaBarm how do you consume your WillPowders? I was having it in a morning coffee but it made me feel incredibly sick

Lola528 · 03/05/2024 06:28

Ancient & Brave been great for me :)

Projectme · 03/05/2024 06:33

I tried nutrabytes marine collagen (pescatarian) for 6 months...made no difference whatsoever.

Theunamedcat · 03/05/2024 06:36

I'm just on my first jar.
What benefits have you found?
I think my skin is looking really shimmery ✨

PieonaBarm · 03/05/2024 08:00

@Jinglesomeoftheway I have it in coffee but also use the MCT Powder. People put it in any liquid though, like soup, or stirred into sauces with meals or yoghurt. It might be better/easier if you have it with food?

Springchickenonion · 03/05/2024 08:02

@PieonaBarm thank you! Just looked! Half the price than what I paid! Shall buy there next time! Thank you!!

Spudlover · 03/05/2024 08:03

I use Zenii skin fusion. It’s expensive but really good. My skin looks fresher and it feels a lot less reactive too.

LordPercyPercy · 03/05/2024 08:05

I use Hunter Gather unflavoured bovine collagen as well. It does have a smell but once it's in my hot drink I can't taste it.
It's making my nails grow really fast!

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 03/05/2024 08:27

I use dose and co. They do a non-dairy version too. I use a caramel coffee creamer in my morning coffee. I have used it for 6 months and I genuinely think it has helped with the deeper lines on my face. I have tried sleeping on my back, but can't so I ended up with deep creases on the side of my face. They have definitely lessened.

Holland and Barrett often do 3 for 2 and online always have extra percentages off, at the moment its 15% off £35.

ThePoshUns · 03/05/2024 10:13

I'm going to give Feel vegan collagen a try. I like their multi vitamin so will see what this is like.

PieonaBarm · 03/05/2024 10:14

@Springchickenonion if you spend over £50 on your first order I can refer you for 15% off but they do do 10% off for first orders if you join the mailing list. I sound like I work for them, I don't, I just like their products. The collagen and MCT powder has helped me drop a fair bit of weight without too much effort!

Springchickenonion · 03/05/2024 10:19

Thank you @PieonaBarm

Oh really! That's a good to know. I would like to drop a few lbs!!

What have you been doing to help this?
I need this too.

PieonaBarm · 03/05/2024 15:09

@DidSomebodySayEnnui I don't eat breakfast - never have really - so I 16:8 intermittent fast and I also use the Willpowders collagen and MCT Powder in a coffee. Around a teaspoon of each in one or two cups of coffee in the morning. It takes a few days of being consistent but it seems to switch off the "food noise" for me so I don't snack and am not wandering around at 3/4pm looking for something to snack on.
