Manchester Co Op Arena Standing Area Under 16's

We have bought tickets to see Olivia Rodrigo this coming Saturday at Manchester Co Op Arena. When we look at the small print it says that under 16's are not allowed in the standing area. DD is 13.

What the hell do we do? I know it's a new venue so there might not be many people with experience of this problem but ... argh.

I would have thought most of her fan base was under 16?

I thought it wasn't ready and the shows had been cancelled. It will be carnage - Manchester City kick off against Wolves at 5.30pm.

Trainersocksandbootsarenotagoodcombo · 01/05/2024 00:02

I know that is another thing we just could not believe when we saw where the venue was. I jokingly said to friend "can you imagine if it was a match day as well?"

DD has talked of little else for weeks. It was a Christmas present.

Does anyone know whether A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has been cancelled for tomorrow?

I've just seen that it's been cancelled at the last minute!

This is fairly standard at all arenas and stadia for concerts and has been since my now 30 year old son was 13 and dI used tk take him to concerts.

Gollumm · 01/05/2024 19:10

Yes it's common, although it's usually 14 and over for standing. You should have read the Ts & Cs before buying. Though this is likely a moot point anyway seeing as it's unlikely to go ahead anyway.

Gollumm · 01/05/2024 19:13

My partner bought from viagogo for a westlife concert and we got to the door for them to tell us they'd already been used. It was a surprise gift otherwise I'd have warned him off resell sites! Luckily the box office had spare tickets so we got in and he got his money back from viagogo.

Is it ready?

Theyve literally just this minjte cancelled tonight's ooeninf show.... While people queue to get in...

cbuew9 · 01/05/2024 19:18

Absolutely gobsmacked you would think this is an appropriate concert for your 13 year old daughter & her friend who isn't even 13 🙄

Some of her lyrics on her songs are beyond what they should be listening to....

Just my opinion...but it feels like everything goes right now to please our kids 😟

lol at 13 I was listening to death metal! OP I would just chance it considering all the problems if it goes ahead the security is likely to have other things on their mind vs checking kids with their parents ID

FeltCarrot · 01/05/2024 19:38

What do people think the chances are of the Take That concert going ahead next Tuesday? 🤔

Seriously,OP, I'd be double checking those tickets if I were you. I've seen 3 different sets of Take That fans mention in forums that they were turned away from the O2 over the weekend because their tickets bought on Viagogo are fake.
Fingers crossed the show goes ahead but its looking very doubtful.

I would have thought that cancelling take that would be such a pr disaster that they will cancel whatever else they need to to get it sorted

Hopefully this is all good news for OP as she can get money back and ideally get seated tickets for the rescheduled gig

not sure how that works with viagogo tho

MojoJojo71 · 01/05/2024 21:01

Oh shit! DD has been looking forward to this since Christmas 😭

KenAdams · 01/05/2024 21:02

I'm so sorry to everyone who had tickets for Olivia. All the children that will be disappointed is just awful.

cbuew9 · 01/05/2024 21:29

over & out for me on this site...it's changed from when I started reading 4 years ago, kind & helpful advice to just nasty now....

JayAlfredPrufrock · 01/05/2024 21:51

I’m getting twitchy about my Killers tickets for June.

BottomlessBrunch · 01/05/2024 21:52

Well you know what they say @cbuew9 don't dish it out if you can't take it.

Gutted for you op about the concert - meant to be seeing take that at that venue next month. Sounds like it's been a catalogue of errors this place.
