……across all the boards. So annoying. It’s only 4 letters, why is it so hard? And breathe….

YANBU.

You're correct of course but I hate the honours system and never use any of those titles. I'll never call anyone Sir.

Fair enough! I’m not sure how much he uses it either!!

MsLuxLisbon · 30/04/2024 19:36

OhmygodDont · 30/04/2024 18:10

I hope he isn’t pm. I still wouldn’t care how people spell it though. Still a man who won’t say women don’t have a penis.

tell me women don’t have a penis and I might give enough fucks to spell his name right till then his just another idiot

Who do you want to be PM, then? Rishi?

BillytheMountain · 30/04/2024 19:43

Keir, piss poor DPP even worse as leader of (no) opposition
genocide supporter he has no shame
nothing will change believe him cos that’s what he’s told you
it’s shit and it’s going to stay that way

Kalevala · 30/04/2024 19:44

MsLuxLisbon · 30/04/2024 19:36

Who do you want to be PM, then? Rishi?

I want a proper socialist leader who cares about child safeguarding and women's rights.

luckylavender · 30/04/2024 19:47

MississippiAF · 30/04/2024 18:02

Who cares?

I’m tempted to deliberately spell it wrong until he confirms women can’t have a penis, men can’t have a cervix, and he apologises to Rosie D.

You clearly didn't see his interview this morning?

SpudleyLass · 30/04/2024 19:47

redfacebigdisgrace · 30/04/2024 18:03

Well me obviously. 🙄 and given he’s likely to be the new PM it would be good to get his name right.

Hopefully not. I expect any new Labour PM to understand that a VAT rise on private special schools can't be whittled down to an "exemption of children with EHCPs only" - you cannot get into a specialist setting without one and most kids with one are in a mainstream state school anyway!

Plus this bozo was quite happy to re release Colin Pitchfork.

KnickerlessParsons · 30/04/2024 19:23

Oh dear. Is the gender issue the only fucking pressing concern in this country

It's not the only issue pressing concern, but it's the only real point of difference between the two main parties for me.

There's a finite amount of money. Even Keir/Kier has said that if Labour win there won't be a lot they can do for the first few years in office.

I have no strong opinions about whether we spend the finite pot on the NHS, education, defence, benefits, the roads, whatever. We can only rob Peter to pay Paul anyway unless we all pay more taxes - either in income tax or by buying stuff.
So yes, a parties views on how to define a woman, whether trans women should be in women only spaces, compete against women in sport etc could well be the deciding factor when I choose who to vote for.

I'm no fan of the Labour Party but there are some (not that many tbh) clear differences. Eg Sending refugees to Rwanda or not, cutting public services further or not so much.

Not voting for them because of Labour's position on gender issues seems a reasonable position though, if you think it'll bring enough pressure on them to change policy/approach either pre or post-election.

I'm not sure there are enough real votes in it tbh, but it'll be interesting to see.

Kalevala · 30/04/2024 19:44

That would be good but Keir is still better than Rishi. I am gender critical but the Tories have an appalling record on women's rights and I would hate to see them get in again because they 'know what a woman is'. Self ID was brought in under their watch, they have no leg to stand on on this whatsoever.

SpudleyLass · 30/04/2024 19:54

And to make my political position on this quite clear - fuck Starmer and fuck the Tories.

I'm going to either protest vote or simply note vote at all. Again.

OhmygodDont · 30/04/2024 20:14

I am not voting Tory or labour in the locals this week. I’m going to protest vote because fuck them both frankly.

mumda · 30/04/2024 20:34

@redfacebigdisgrace that's Sir Starmer to you.

Mumteedum · 30/04/2024 20:43

Kalevala · 30/04/2024 18:51

Kiera/Keira are both used too. I didn't mean as a reminder, just that Kie and Kei are both used to make the same sound in names. Keir can only be learnt by rote.

Ohhhh I get you now. I'm too tired clearly 😫

BloodyHellKenAgain · 30/04/2024 20:47

I'm sorry OP, I think I've been guilty of this misdemeanor 😂

tennesseewhiskey1 · 30/04/2024 20:51

Really. This is what bothers you the most - a man who doesn't know what a woman is name being spelled?!

LakeTiticaca · 30/04/2024 21:14

Whichever way its spelt he's still a dickhead 😉

redfacebigdisgrace · 30/04/2024 21:20

Did I say that’s what bothers me the most? I can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Haha, yes very true 🙌🤴😁

Couldn’t care 😂

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/04/2024 21:23

I'll get it right for the good one; Hardie.

ToWhitToWhoo · 30/04/2024 21:24

So long as he gets in, and we end this current misgovernment, I don't really care how people spell his name.

QuickDraining · 30/04/2024 21:25

"In my life, I have identified four components, which I call tempers, from which are derived every human soul. Woe. Frolic. Dread. Malice. Each man's character is defined by the precise ratio that resides in him. I walked into the cave of my own mind, and there I tamed them. Should you tame the tempers as I did mine, then the world shall become but your appendage. It is this great and consecrated power that I hope to pass on to all of you, my children." - Kier Eagan.

Desecratedcoconut · 30/04/2024 21:37

Keir, keeps endorsing identity rhetoric.

ToWhitToWhoo · 30/04/2024 21:48

KnickerlessParsons · 30/04/2024 18:52

I can't spell his name. He can't explain what makes me a female woman so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't need the Prime Minister to explain what makes me a female woman. That's not the job of the Prime Minister. I know who I am, and don't need a politician for that.

I need a government that will reduce poverty; that will improve education and the health service and social care and police and other public services. I need a government that will not demonize disabled people or their (mostly female) carers. I want a government that won't seek to compete with Reform for the support of the populist Right. I don't know that Starmer will achieve all or indeed any of this, but I know that Sunak won't, and that his rivals for the Tory leadership if he goes are likely to be even worse,
