Hello. I've started selling stuff on Vinted listed my daughter's top for £2 - not suprisingly it sold v quickly- should have put more like £20 apparently ! Is it bad form to delist and relist for more money.?? Is Vinted worth the hassle? Thanks

Yes you are wrong.

wishIwasonholiday10 · 29/04/2024 15:40

If you have already sold it it's too late. Just cut your losses and do better research next time.

Precipice · 29/04/2024 15:40

Since you've already sold it, it would be wrong. You made the choice to list it for that amount and now you have an obligation to send it to the buyer who has purchased it.

Billyandharry · 29/04/2024 15:49

What happens if i relist it?Do i get a bad review? Does anyone make any money doing this? Thanks

Worth the hassle?

You advertised a top for £2, wrote "not suprisingly it sold v quickly" and are asking if Vinted is worth the hassle?

Yes, it would be bad as you've already stated its sold.

Billyandharry · 29/04/2024 15:52

Alright Crumpleton calm down!

Alright Crumpleton calm down!

I am calm....

Just wondered why you think Vinted is hassle?

Relist the item and have the buyer leave a review, then you'll find out who's "hassle"

Billyandharry · 29/04/2024 15:57

You just seem a tad overinvested in someone selling a 2 quid top😅

Says them who posted on here in the first place..
🙄

Before listing clothing, it's a good idea to search for the same brand and category (eg "sweatshirt") to see what sort of price is the going rate. Then you can price sensibly.

Cancelling a sale and relisting the same item for a higher price will get you bad feedback which will put other buyers off.

Billyandharry · 29/04/2024 16:04

@Elektra1 thanks - I literally just started today - is Ebay a better/easier way to make cash?
The whole download label/print with no working printer/queue up to post seems a tad silly for £2! Any advice appreciated.

I've bought stuff off vinted and not had things posted out but can never be bothered to leave a review tbh. Wondering if online selling stuff is for me??!!

NisekoWhistler · 29/04/2024 16:08

You get a 1 star review for not seeing the same through

Billyandharry · 29/04/2024 16:15

Ah ok thanks

My advice would be to sell the top to the person who bought it at £2, it's not their fault you feel it's under priced. You could put the next one up at £20 but there's no guarantee whatsoever it will sell, it might only have sold BECAUSE it was £2.

I bought a pair of sandals recently from Vinted, they were £25 new with tags but they retail at £80, your stuff is only worth what someone wants to pay.

IF you thought it was going to be a hassle, you should have charged more. Don't make that mistake again. But fulfill your obligations and post the top.

Billyandharry · 29/04/2024 16:27

Ok thanks for the advice . I'm kind of asking if it's worth the hassle generally ?? Or should I just give it all to charity and get a paper round?

We can't really answer that, depends how much you've got to sell, whether it's branded, whether you can be arsed listing the stuff., whether you really need the money? I CBA photographing and listing everything so I give it to a woman who collects for charity who I found through our local FB group

CatamaranViper · 29/04/2024 16:31

I sell most of DSs old tops on vinted for £1-£2. I get loads of people who buy bundles (which I then discount). I've made about £50 in a month doing this and it's not really any hassle. I bulk buy the post bags and mainly use the inpost boxes so I just drop a load off when I'm on my way to the local food shop or as an excuse to go for a wander on my lunch break.

If you've made a sale and don't complete it, you get an auto 1 star review. If you buy stuff from ppl and don't leave a review, they get an auto 5 star review.

I sell things on Vinted but anything that would go for less than £10 I don't bother and it goes to the charity shop instead. EBay is no better, in fact until recently was worse as it charged seller fees (Vinted doesn't). But I heard they've now waived seller fees for clothes. Tbh I think Vinted and Depop are more popular with buyers these days though.

husbandcallsmepickle · 29/04/2024 16:35

On my Vinted account I've turned off all the postage options except Evri Home Delivery or Parcel Shop. The buyer pays for postage and I print off a digital label at my local corner shop. Quick and easy.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 29/04/2024 16:45

Surely if it's sold you would have to cancel the sale to relist?

That's the part that would piss me off as a buyer. And I absolutely wouldn't buy it after.

If however an item is still up, absolutely up the price - depending on how quick you want it gone - I've done this a few times evening just to give me the wiggle room for a buyer to offer and then for me to drop to the price I actually want.

I think a cancellation on either side within 24 hours doesn't record so there's no review

Changingplace · 29/04/2024 16:48

I think if you cancel the sale the person who’s bought it can’t leave a review, it happened to me when I bought something then the seller said they’d lost it.

You'll be unlikely to get £20 for a top on Vinted though, most things (even brand new with tags) go for really cheap.
