To ask what day is best to have as a day off

Hello. Currently work a four day week, Fridays off. Have done for a number of years. Love having Fridays off with DS. Also start of the weekend - proper Friday feels!

DD starts school in Sept. Am considering swapping day off to a Monday, mainly for the fact that for any Monday bank holiday (at least four per year) I will be given the hours back by them being added to my annual leave allocation. Which means an extra four days off a year (I know it's not really an extra four days, just means I can take my bank holidays whenever I want).

WWYD??? Would be sad to lose having Fridays off, but feel like it would help as I'll have more leave to use in the juggle of school holidays?

Whoops, just realised I misunderstood!

I'd go for Wednesdays off, then you're never in the office more than 2 days in a row.

Monday all day long. I get pro rated time in lieu for the bank holidays I miss ! Never have a Sunday night feeling

I work 33.5hrs over 4 days and have a Tuesday off. We don't work Bank Holidays so it means I get a 4 day weekend. Also, if I have a particularly busy weekend, I'm only in for one day before I have a day off. 🙃

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but most teacher training days fall on a Monday, more often than not anyway. So this would work better than a Friday.

I think this is school dependent. They are usually Fridays at our school.

I enjoyed have Fridays off but for childcare I had to swap to Mondays & I loved it, it allowed me to catch up on the washing/ ironing school uniforms etc, I could do a big shop batch cook, anything else that got me organised for the week ahead, also enjoyed being at work on a Friday as people are happier than on a Monday

Weds are good to have off. You don’t miss much at work, can always catch up. Never behind on washing etc.

or have two afternoons off, so can do two school picks ups.
