Fuerteventura nudists

I wany to go on holiday to occidental jandia mar hotel eith my children and husband but I'm put off by it saying on the beaches there's lots of nudists. Is this true and is lanzarote better if I don't want to see nudists?

If you go to Lanzarote, don't go to the famed Papagayo beaches just outside Playa Blanca, as there's lots of nudists there. Don't know about the particular bit you've just asked about.

We have been to that hotel, it's a lovely part of the island and very quiet. There are some nudists on the beach, mostly older people who are doing their thing and not bothering anyone. It's a massive beach, loads of space, you are not going to be right on top of them.

Jandia is a Mecca for German nudists. Best stay off the beaches if nudity offends you.

It's unlikely thst there will be nudists on the beaches close to the centre of Corralejo but there will be many as you get further out of town in the sand dunes, and also in the south of the island or the beaches on the west coast. I don't really understand why anyone would be bothered by nudism or want to avoid people who don't want to wear clothes on the beach?

Where are the 'German nudists intent on selling their lifestyle' that you speak of exactly?
If anything like you tell did actually happen then I can only assume these were prople very new to nudism.

Germans have been doing this since before the second world war. They see the sun as health giving. The ones I've seen were a deep mahogany colour not just nicely tanned. They're retired perhaps. My GP always said it was good for pain relief, being warm that is.

My parents neighbours left Wales in October, returning in the spring due to arthritis issues. They said the heat and swimming daily kept them going.

@justasking111 my understanding is that it also became even more popular in the DDR, as a way of expressing some freedom in a tightly controlled regime. Not my thing but I definitely see nothing wrong with it either. 👍

But it's not just Germans who don't wear clothes on the beaches in places like Fuerteventura - there are plenty of British and scandinavian people who prefer not to wear swimsuits etc. But I do think it tends to be British people who are incredibly prudish about nudity.

Pre queen Victoria we were much less prudish. That reign really did a number on us. Add in the religious sinful attitude we're pretty repressed. Even today schools and parents are teaching that your body is private, not to ever be seen by anyone.

@Growlybear83 of course it's not just Germans who enjoy nudist beaches, but Fuerteventura is a popular holiday choice for Germans (as well as Brits) and so there are quite a lot of German visitors there anyway, be they nude or otherwise.

I know, it's so ironic because in many ways the Victorian era was the most degenerate.

I travelled extensively with my son when he was young and he saw nudity and topless women aplenty. As the old saying goes "it never did him any harm", in fact he took less notice of them than the nearest ice cream vendor.

Having quite happily been to nudist and non nudist beaches on Fuerteventura and Lanzarote for me it’s no big deal and easy to avoid those beaches if you prefer.

I hope they wipe the bar stools inbetween customers!

They have towels to sit on.

There are awful lot of nudist on all Fuertaventura beaches, hard to avoid them to be honest
They are 30-40 yo and older generation both males and females
Sometimes you see 'things' its hard to believe such sizes :)
