Like a pp, I had never seen her in anything until I watched the Alan Carr Italian home renovation series series in which she came across very well; kind, funny, practical with huge energy. I don’t think she is vacuous at all.
I think she has a lot of pluck and is an old fashioned “trooper”. Reading her Wiki page just now; her father was an alcoholic so she didn’t have an easy, privileged start in life, so she has had to work very hard to get where she is. If you look at everything she has done, she has certainly packed a lot in, including winning an Olivier award for her theatre work.
I personally prefer a more natural style but she’s in showbizz so it’s part of her job to maintain her physical appearance and she said to Alain Carr that she used to be a gymnast so I imagine that helps!
It’s a bit disappointing when people starts threads on here simply for the purpose of saying how much they dislike a woman who is successful in her own sphere of work.
I don’t find all the revealing outfits particularly edifying, nor do I particularly approve of plastic surgery, because I think it normalises
women cutting up their healthy bodies for appearance’s sake, with all the attendant risks that carries for them, but I imagine the pressures are different when your work is in front of a camera.
