Touching items in supermarket bakery with your hands

I think almost every time I have tried to use the 'fresh bakery' in the supermarket (you know, all the breads and whatnot out for you to pick from) - someone has come over and started moving them around with their bare hands.

Not picking one up to take (questionable but tolerable), actually moving items on top out of the way to get the item they want. Customers this is, not the staff.

YABU - why not, you'd do it in the fruit and veg aisle

YANBU - bad manners

I it buy products if they are wrapped up. M&S have stuff that just sits there all day. People are revolting - I don't want things that have been coughed on or touched.

It’s nasty.

I only buy from the bakery if it’s super early and I’ve just witnessed the staff pour in a fresh batch. And I use the tongs to get the stuff at the back.

Yep I always get stuff from the back and not just bakery . I've seen people squeeze and prod all kids of stuff .

I absolutely can’t stand people sticking their dirty unwashed maulers into the baked goods. There’s no excuse! It’s just bad manners and extremely unhygienic! That’s why tongs are provided in LIDL but I still saw about 6 people mauling the produce in the bakery section. I complained to a shop floor worker and he was useless! He just said there was nothing they could do about it. What rubbish! They should start packaging all the baked goods! People make me sick!
