Someone also needs to get a handle on the world's worst handyman Mike Flood. He could accidentally set fire to an ocean. What Helen sees in him, I don't know. PC Malcolm needs to do everyone a favour and plant some evidence in Mike's van, framing him for a dastardly deed, and seeing him jailed for a nice long stretch, thus reducing fires and accidents in pontypandy by roughly 50%

Sam is clearly paying Norman backhanders to keep him in a job. In no other village of this size would Fireman Sam have a wage coming in. It would be strictly 'volunteer' firemen only.

Mike Flood is probably on the payroll too.

Thankfully we are over the Firman Sam stage but my DS was obsessed with Norman. I can remember finding a thread on here at the time about Norman being Sam's secret love child!

I’m seriously thinking of adding fireman Sam to the “do not watch” list. Right beside peppa pig!

DS (5) won't watch it, from the age of about 3 he's said Norman is rude and very naughty and has boycotted it 😂

I do love a bit of Fireman Sam, admittedly, I was probably single for too long whilst my DS was very into it!!

But Norman..... I've never had such hatred for a child/fictional character! Sam should let him burn! He's the worst!!

On a similar note, Kwazii is a useless addition to the Octonauts and must only be there through some kind of nepotism. He's not a scientist, navigator, medic, mechanic or anything useful.

My DC is now 20 and even now if he does something arsey we still call him Norman Price

My children are grown now , Norman used to be a side character when they were little. Watching with my grandchildren it's soo annoying that he's the central theme every time

That strikes me as a viable alternative to our current government set-up.

I think that Pontypandy is an experimental village designed to support a child with arsonist tendancies. How else can you explain the ratio of fire staff to villagers and the huge investment of equipment?

The original Fireman Sam and the series after that were great. The latest incarnation, not so much.

They should send Norman to live in an isolated cottage, far, far away, with Postman Pat.

Then they could cause as many problems as they like and argue between themselves who is the more incompetent, with nobody else around to bail them out and then laud them as the heroes!

I would let Jess stay local, somewhere warm and cosy with lots of food and toys available, as none of it is her fault.

You could be on to something there. Maybe all the villagers have done very, very bad things - and it's their punishment to live there, with Norman (as well as the resulting rocketing council tax and insurance bills) as their punishment.

Dh declared one day that Sam should take annual leave and see if they can sort their own shit out for a bit. Kill or cure. Admittedly dh was having a rough time at work and couldn’t get leave but he had a point.
