To think keep buying books when you haven’t read the ones you’ve got is odd

Like having over 100 and keep buying how are you going to get through them

You don’t understand book buying.

it is in fact odd not to keep buying books.

Acapulco12 · 09/04/2024 22:20

Oh dear - you’ve just described me 🤣🤣 I will read the ones I have one day!! There are so many on my bookshelf that I want to read, but I have an awful attention span and spend hours on my phone instead of reading. I really should do something about it haha. Anyone got any tips?

Keepstring · 09/04/2024 22:20

Not odd at all 🤔

EdithGrantham · 09/04/2024 22:21

Buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies

Allshallbewell2021 · 09/04/2024 22:21

Completely 💯 my behaviour. Can't stop buying; but don't read all of them.

Agree!

Book lovers are forever adding to their library.

ZipZapZoom · 09/04/2024 22:21

Buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies as any self respecting book lover will tell you. 😅

Stainglasses · 09/04/2024 22:22

I do
this.

Emmerald · 09/04/2024 22:22

My pile of "yet to read" books grows every day I think! It doesn't stop me buying new books though.

EC22 · 09/04/2024 22:22

🤣
Youre joking?

Hatty65 · 09/04/2024 22:22

You aren't a reader, are you OP?

savoycabbage · 09/04/2024 22:22

I don't think it's odd.

I buy fusilli when I have penne and I also buy clothes when I have other clothes that I haven't worn and I start watching tv shows when I haven't finished other series.

qotsa · 09/04/2024 22:23

I do this. Kindle style though. Got so many now. Grin

hobbledyhoy · 09/04/2024 22:23

There's no such thing as too many books. Sometimes you can be reading several at a time.

Edinvillian · 09/04/2024 22:24

I do this with audiobooks.

This 😂

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 09/04/2024 22:24

I have 200 actual books, and around 300 kindle books.
I read around 200 books a year... you're clearly not a reader are you?

Ponderingwindow · 09/04/2024 22:24

I don’t understand.

there is no limit to book acquisition.

Perfectly normal behaviour.

aSpanielintheworks · 09/04/2024 22:26

Just... no.
Not weird at all.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 09/04/2024 22:26

<stares hard at pile of unread books by bed>

yes if course it’s ridiculous

BettyShagter · 09/04/2024 22:28

This reminds me of me.

I keep buying salad and never eating it.

But the fact I've bought it makes me feel healthy, so perhaps all the book buying makes them feel well read?

Bluevelvetsofa · 09/04/2024 22:33

I buy yarn and cross stitch kits when I haven’t finished or used what I’ve got. It’s unlikely that I will ever finish what I’ve got!

BertieBotts · 09/04/2024 22:34

Never running out of reading material is a feature, not a bug.

YABU.
