Would you ever say it out loud?
just read it on another thread and it’s left me feeling slightly queasy.

Does it mean piss on your fireworks?

mindutopia · 08/04/2024 12:03

😂 Part of me hopes it is and the other part of me really hopes it’s not!

Honestly, never heard this phrase before but I’m probably not the right demographic.

SafetyFootwearMustBeWorn · 08/04/2024 12:04

does anyone use it?

Ha ha that sounds quite funny 😄 never heard it before.

DearSilverGirl · 08/04/2024 12:05

I've heard it before but don't much like it.

Greengumby · 08/04/2024 12:05

I didn’t use it but have seen it a lot on USA sites.

NewDogOwner · 08/04/2024 12:05

Like 'to piss on your chips"?

Booksoverbros · 08/04/2024 12:06

Yes it's real, commonly used in the kink world.

E.g You don't have to like spanking, but don't shame someone else for enjoying it.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 08/04/2024 12:06

Never heard of it, is it like "piss on your chips"?

BobbyBiscuits · 08/04/2024 12:08

It's too childlike, and onomatopoeic, like someone's been sick on someone's else's food?!
Yeah, please ban it. If someone dislikes something you like just say, 'oh, I think it's lovely.'
Weird phrase.

SafetyFootwearMustBeWorn · 08/04/2024 12:08

It has a whiff of adult baby talk and sleaze

OP posts:
KoolKookaburra · 08/04/2024 12:09

Ewww that's so weird

phoenixrosehere · 08/04/2024 12:10

Do you mean “Don’t yuk someone’s yum?”

Cazpar · 08/04/2024 12:11

I've read it, don't care for it. But I hate the words "yum" or "yummy". Especially when used by adults who aren't talking to babies at the time.

😮this has taken a whole new direction
Now even more intrigued as to why it was uttered on another thread nothing to do with kink

OP posts:
LostFuse · 08/04/2024 12:17

It's not kink specific by any means - just google it.

CurlewKate · 08/04/2024 12:18

Yes it is. It's utterly awful. <shudder>

CurlewKate · 08/04/2024 12:19

I've only heard it in a sexual context. Which makes it worse.

Mimrr · 08/04/2024 12:20

Have only heard it about being rude about someone else’s food. Like complaining about ‘smelly’ ethnic food or eating chicken feet or blood sausage or insects. Rude to express disgust about anyone’s choices.

Wotchaz · 08/04/2024 12:20

I’ve only heard it in a toddler picky eating context - had no idea it has any sexual overtones!

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 08/04/2024 12:21

Never used it and never heard of it.

I've only heard it in a kink context or used by people involved in the kink community...

But they may have heard someone say it and thought it fit the situation, or maybe they use it in all areas of their life.

Who knows haha

I've said it once or twice just randomly.

I think I used it in reference to mixing mayo and ketchup for my fries though

LostFuse · 08/04/2024 12:22

"Don't yuck my yum" is a colloquial expression used to express the idea that individuals have different preferences and opinions, and that it is not acceptable to criticize or belittle someone's personal choices or tastes. It is often used as a way to discourage negative comments or judgment towards something that someone else enjoys, even if it may not be to your own liking. The phrase can be used in a variety of contexts, from hobbies and interests to fashion and lifestyle choices, and is commonly used as a reminder to respect others' personal preferences and to focus on celebrating diversity rather than tearing others down.

Urban Dictionary: belittle

Dismiss as seems unimportant.

It's bad form starting a thread to slag off something someone said on a different thread @SafetyFootwearMustBeWorn

StephanieSuperpowers · 08/04/2024 12:24

I've only seen it in a sexual sense, and in that context, I find it horrific. It is so childish and yet also somehow domineering. I'll say what I like, thanks very much.

I can't imagine wanting any further interaction of any kind with a person who used such an offputting phrase.
