To ask where did the bird come from and where has it gone??

We came home from a nice (but damp) long weekend camping in Norfolk. Our cat was left as usual in the dining room/kitchen/utility room and both doors to the lounge were shut. My mum popped in to check on cat and didn't open any of the doors to the lounge.

We arrive home yesterday and there is lots of bird poo in the lounge. Mostly on the back of the sofa which is by the large window but some on other high surfaces.

No window was left open and both doors were shut when we got home. We cannot find the bird.

  1. How did the bird get in the room?
  2. Where the fuck is it now??

Yeah I think if it came from the chimney there would be signs.

NCForQuestions · 02/04/2024 18:56

Have you checked the Nope Rope for suspicious bird sized lumps?

The cat probably helped with the lid.

But the cat couldn't get in!

The cat brought in a bird the day before you went away, the bird shat itself in th lounge but cat then recaught and moved / took out ( of the room, possibly the house) the injured / now dead bird before he was shut out.
You were busy holiday prepping and didnt notice the mess on the morning you went away, only paying attention to shutting the cat out of the room.

Capt. Noodles is uniformly sized so no evidence of unexpected snacks

But the cat bribed the mum who caught a bird for the cat. Encouraged by Noodles who wanted to watch the fun. Egged on by your mum the bird knocked itself out on the window and Noodles had to be extracted to clear up the mess...but they all hate poo so left that for you

Your mum swallowed it - to catch the spider that wriggled and jiggled inside her. Keep a close eye on her, cat next. Then what?

Youdontknowmedoyou · 02/04/2024 18:59

The cat has never caught a bird in his life and the daughters were in the lounge watching TV when we were packing.

Well a dog I believe but thankfully we don't have one

Edited

Mum hates cats and is terrified of the danger noodle so not sure this is likely

Your mum had a secret “bring a bird” party.

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 02/04/2024 19:06

I think you need to interrogate your mum, she knows more than she's letting on 😁

justforthisnow · 02/04/2024 19:06

If it is a gas fire, there would be no mess, possibly, as no soot.

Did mum open the window?

That was going to be my suggestion. Mum thought the room needed airing so opened the window whilst she was dealing with the cat elsewhere.

Bird flew in, shat and possibly left again or, alternatively, is hiding somewhere and just waiting for the right moment to scare the living daylights out of you by loudly flapping as it makes it's presence known.

Isn’t this a very small tank for a snake? Can it even unfurl to its full size? 😨

WingingItSince1973 · 02/04/2024 19:12

Sorry no help here but just wanted to say I love your wallpaper ❤️

Willmafrockfit · 02/04/2024 19:13

He's only little, less than 2 foot currently. He can stretch out fully if he wanted to but corn snakes like to curl up in hidy holes.

Thanks, I've always always wanted this Sanderson wallpaper. We couldn't afford to do the whole room but I love it so much.

It's very obviously bird poo plus cat couldn't have sat on the top of the mirror and pooped. Plus he couldn't get in
