To love Bing?

The CBeebies programme?

Everyone seems to hate Bing and his ‘whiny’ behaviour but I think it’s a great programme which teaches toddlers about empathy and making the right decisions.

Granted Bing often makes the wrong decision but he always learns a lesson from it and so does my toddler when watching it. I’ve found it useful when explaining concepts in a simple way e.g sharing.

I don’t get all the Bing hate! Give me Bing over crappy Cocomelon or any other equally shit overstimulating programme any day. I also think the Bing world looks lovely and I’d quite like to live there🤣

I can’t fucking stand that whiny little twat.

Cbeebies have changed their lineup recently which already pissed me right off as we used to get a good half hour snuggled in bed on weekend mornings watching Twirlywoos, etc. now it’s those 2 annoying show me show me dickheads with their hand-puppets and stupid songs.and on top of this, they’ve introduced a few new, really fucking shit shows recently. Game Catchers and Vida the Vet are so infuriatingly shit. I have to turn Vida off as soon as it comes on because she has such an annoying voice. It feels better to get that out.

Ah you see I appreciate the addition of show me show me as my dd is mesmerised by it so it gives me 10mins to drink my coffee and wake up!
She also really likes Vida the vet but yes I find her annoying. And is rather taken with game catchers too

I thought it was just me that though Bing was whiny and attention seeker and always thinks everything revolves around him. I much prefer Charlie and Lola, Bluey, Puffin Rock, Jojo and Gran. Bing is a No

Bing can fuck off, sorry.
And flop’s ‘gentle parenting’ pisses me off too. The other day he told bing to be careful with his smartphone while he played a game, bing dropped it while pissing about and panicked and threw the broken phone in the bin. Flop found out and just said ‘oh well that wasn’t great, was it bing?’ ARGHHHH

What do you want Flop to do? Give him a clip round the ear? He's 3. He was sorry afterwards and didn't have the tools or awareness to deal with the situation properly so Flop calmly explained to him why it was a bad decision. I'm not sure what being hard on Bing would achieve

I like Bing! I find it calm and chilled, unlike Cocomelon, which has now been banned after my DD started using Americanisms.

Peppa Pig is my favourite ❤️

We also like Hey Duggee and Pip + Posey.

Although most of the time we watch the Julia Donaldson animations.

The phone thing gets brought up a lot but to be honest I’m not sure what Bing did that was so terrible. He broke it, obviously as adults we know phones are expensive but kids don’t. I wouldn’t let my three year old wander round with my phone for that reason. And it was an accident. I may be taking this too seriously.

I quite like JoJo and Gran Gran, but it did get us into a bit of confusion. I was trying to explain to my three year old about where London was and found a globe in a charity shop, but we are not ready for this, he just used the globe as a football.

Bluey is okay. Just okay, I really don’t get the outpouring of love for it. It’s just … okay.

Moon and Me is great. It makes me feel rather zen. It’s just so utterly bonkers.

Collywobble In a tub. First time I saw it I was all WTH but something happened in my brain when I saw how my little one got all sleepy with it

Flappy birds fly over the sea

So Delightfully weird. Plus it makes my baby belly laugh and I also love that sound. Twilrywoos is underrated IMO.

blackbirdsinginginthenight · 31/03/2024 22:27

Why is Bing's parent a literal sack though?

Cavewomansue · 31/03/2024 22:37

I still LOVE Bing. I love Flop too. Flop remains the parent who I aspire to be.

Also Abney and Teal.

headstone · 31/03/2024 22:41

Bing is very odd, the toddlers are all bigger then the ‘grown ups’ who are tiny and don’t reassemble anything. There is no sign of the actual parents, not even photographs. There is a theory on the internet that the Bing world relates to a nuclear apocalypse where only the toddlers survive and the carers are just a figment of their imaginations so they don’t feel alone.

I don’t mind Bing, but I’ve watched the whole series and they’re a lot of unanswered questions. What is Flop? Where are the adults? Is Padget a sociopath (note her reaction when Pando boots Bing in the face on the swing)?

Its also only fair to big up Amma, the absolute legend.

I always see it as Pando being the difficult toddler kid.

Zula being the child you want your kid to be.

Bing being your average toddler/ pre-schooler.

Not my favourites but far from the worst thing out there.

My DH did not want Peppa. But I've watched a bit occasionally with the smalls and it is actually really funny.

Oh relax. My post was flippant and silly, obviously I don’t expect flop to kick off. It was just funny how zen and nonplussed he was about his phone being smashed and binned when in real life you’d need a minute to get your shit together 😄

Gowlett · 03/04/2024 10:47

Saw it once. Didn’t like it.

Viacky · 09/08/2024 17:11

The episode when Flop has already hoovered up half a box of cereal, and then knocks over the pot of coffee. He just says "oh dear" 🤣 I couldn't be that chill in my wildest dreams, I want whatever he's having.
