NINJA multicookers opinion and disaster stories

Hello! I love love love my Ninja air fryer and was thinking about buying a multicooker from Ninja too (10 in 1, 11 in 1, 15 in 1 etc.) But they are soooo expensive!

I want to decide if/which one is worth it more and wait for the next Black Friday type event. My husband thinks it will be a waste of money an they take too much space for no reason...AIBU?

Settle thIs for us please! Do any of you have any of them and if yes do you use them often? Can you cook for a family of 4 there? I love the idea of having a rice cooker and slow cooker amongst other things. The 10 in 1 model has a 15 min meal function which also looks interesting-if too good to be true.

I'm interested in this too. Everytime it's on offer on Amazon my finger hovers over the buy button but then would I use it or is it a gimmick?

Nobody? I guess they are not as popular as I thought they were!

I have a 15 in 1 and absolutely love it.
I regularly use the pressure Cook slow Cook and Air fry functions.
Well worth the money, I don't use my oven very often now because most things I do in the Ninja.
The pot is huge so great for batch cooking things like chilli, can pressure cook pasta for it to be done in 6 minutes. Honestly I could go on all day about how much I love mine!

scater · 31/03/2024 12:48

We have a 15 in one and use it every day from pressure cooking mashed potatoes to roasting a whole chicken. Ive just done melted cheese bagels. Love it.

Kat256M · 31/03/2024 12:53

@Mummyofthewildones @scater Really? Well good because they are expensive!

Weirdly, the only model that has the "rapid cooking" function is the 10 in 1 but I guess that means it wasn't good enough to be included in the new models!?

I have the ninja speedi and it's amazing. Fish comes out as through it's been fried and rice cooked perfectly at the same time. Bake bread and cake in it, best purchase we have made. Lots of Facebook groups and YouTube videos do for help, advice and inspiration

millymoo1202 · 31/03/2024 13:00

My daughter has one and loves it

FawnFrenchieMum · 31/03/2024 13:02

@Kat256M is the 10 in 1 model the square ‘Speedi’ version? If so they are slightly different to the other multi-cookers they do in that they are more designed for the one pot fast meals (ie rice / pasta at the same time as protein and veg, but all coming out cooked perfectly). They traditional multi cookers have the other functions like pressure cook etc.

They are all really good, but decide which functions would be most useful for your family.

I have the 15 in 1 and do love the some of the functions on it. Use my mix of Ninja’s every single day.

Mummyofthewildones · 31/03/2024 13:04

@Kat256M just looked up "rapid cooking function ninja" and it apparently combines steam and air frying. 15 in 1 has steam air fry mode.
Forgot another couple of good things - the 15-1 has a temperature probe which you stick in the meat and either use a preset temp or put in your own temperature and it will cook til the centre of the meat reaches your desired temperature then switch off. If you like pink roast beef you can also use the dehydrate function for 6 hours then air fry for 5 mins and rest for at least 30 mins and it gives you the most insane juicy roast beef. Has to be a decent joint of meat in the first place though else it won't be tender.
I also love it for steam roasting a whole large chicken in about 50 minutes!
See now you've got me started, my work mates joke I could be a ninja rep 🤣

Kat256M · 31/03/2024 13:32

@FawnFrenchieMum I didn't realised that, very interesting! I guess the 15 in 1 is much more versatile then.

@Mummyofthewildones Same!! Love the airfryer and the knives. My husband makes fun of me because I talk about them so much. More than happy to hear any opinions you have 😃😃😃

Not a multi-cooker but I have ZeroStick Ninja bakeware and it is the best ever .
I biught two trays and a roasting tin then another two trays .
They are big , most of the negative reviews are not fitting in an oven type .

I have the instant pot duo which is similar and use it regularly. I use the saute and pressure cook functions to make a pasta bake and then airfry to melt cheese over the tip. I always cook my rice in it now - comes out perfect every time. Have also slow cooked beef which came out well although having seen the dehydrate tip above I may try that next time.

I'm a big fan of ninja stuff too (especially the creamii) so would hesitate to get the ninja version.

Dadpole · 31/03/2024 14:41

I have had the 9-in-1 for two years now and I absolutely love it! I use it at least once every week. It’s the combination of functions that is particularly useful. I tend to cook a lot of curries and stews, and the fact that you can sauté and pressure cook in the same pot is fantastic. Pressure cook and air fry is great as well. I use the slow cooker function less often (not organised enough!) but when I have used it, it’s turned out really well.

Rice is a big one if it can get it right! I can cook it but I have to keep hovering over the pot-not easy with kids! I would like to leave and forget

I love mine and hardly ever use the oven now.

swiftieNI · 31/03/2024 15:10

I got a ninja health grill in 2019. It's been used everyday. We use it at breakfast for sausages or hash browns or wraps
Then at dinner time I use it for chips or fish or chicken. I love it. I wouldn't be with out it

JadeSeahorse · 31/03/2024 15:27

Another 15 in 1 owner here! Absolutely adore it and it is on the go daily for something.

Cooks a small chicken on steam roast in 35 minutes. The grill function is superb for steak, chops etc.

DH is always batch cooking some dish or other for himself and his freezer.

The only thing I didn’t think was so great was the “Bake” function as my cakes always turned out lopsided despite turning them occasionally. However, I have a second oven type air fryer which I now use for baking. Otherwise can highly recommend the 15 in 1.

Thank you for sharing!! Too bad about the cake, I hoped I could use thag for baking too.

How do you find it as a rice cooker? I am trying to eat less chips...I keep failing!

JadeSeahorse · 31/03/2024 16:05

@Kat256M. I’ve never actually cooked rice but just asked DH and he used it in the pressure cooker function and says it only took a couple of minutes once up to pressure.

I always worry about non-stick stuff losing its non-stickiness, so I initially ruled out a Ninja.

I chose the Instant Pot pressure cooker because the cooking bit was stainless steel and would last. It mainly gets used for dhals/chillis/casseroles/cooking mash.

At Christmas I bought a Speedi. I tend to use it as a quick grill or oven.
It is so quick to heat up, and easy to lift the lid to check on progress.

For Ninja stuff it is worth checking their own website. They also sell a lot of demo/ex display kitchenware o. Ebay (bought some frying pans on there which are a joy to use after tefals and IKEA brands over the decades).

Iwrotethelyricstoaxlf · 31/03/2024 16:12

I’ve got the instant pot duo and a ninja dial drawer air fryer.

I rarely use my oven now, but like the fact I can be cooking some stuff in the IP and then finishing off roasties in the ninja. A medium chicken (with legs slightly modified) goes in one drawer and takes about 45 mins.

I can do a whole roast and only use the hob for making proper gravy. Though some people use the drawers in the ni ja for this too.

I will check the website for sure-I need to find good accessories too I guess! Love experimenting with those
