Worried about cars going past at night new build estate

I have recently moved into a new build and keep hearing cars go past at night. Obviously this wouldn’t normally bother me but we are right at the end and any further is blocked off as they were still building past our house. My neighbours have moved in but I don’t think it’s them. A few people have moved in at the top end but there would be no reason to come to the end part of the estate and go past . I’m worried people are scoping the houses. Aibu?

It's probably just eat/deliveroo/takeaway drivers getting lost, the sat navs probably aren't up to date and the roads on new estates are unfamiliar. On my estate there is almost a constant stream of food and other deliveries arriving, often using my space when I get home!

The sheer volume of delivery drivers nowadays is astounding.

Are you new here?! It's absolutely normal for fifty people to make the same point in a Mumsnet thread! Everyone wants their say, even if it's already been said 😄

@lul1

Many people on MN only read the first post and jump in straight away with their comment without reading anything else.

Cancel the cheque!

But they quoted posts so 🤦‍♀️😂

Burglars don't really scope out houses any more. Burglary is more usually an impulse crime, and if you had a really really swish house with clear and obvious signs of wealth...they wouldn't be driving up and down the road repeatedly.

The suggestion that it's JustEat drivers getting lost is the most likely one!

Car thieves do though. Much more professional and well-organised crime - because far more lucrative.
