Toddler next to cliff edge

There must be more to this photo than meets the eye. Because surely no adult in their right mind would let a preschooler wander around freely so close to a cliff edge?!

I live near there. The coast between Birling Gap and Beachy Head is stunning.
Have had to stop going particularly at weekends. People trying to get selfies/ throwing balls for dogs against the backdrop of the highest cliff in England ( and the one sure way to die) literally makes my knees ache.

I have to say I agree. I’m not sure on the circumstances of the little boy by the Soar so will not speculate here, but parents taking risks with their child’s lives need some culpability if it was caused by negligence or lack of attention on their part. Only last year near us a girl drowned in a water park. Yes it’s a more controlled environment but her parents must have signed a disclaimer saying she could swim, and she couldn’t. I know this as my own children have been there. And it seems like every day we hear of children falling into rivers - maybe we need to bring back the shock warning videos in schools.

Disgusting ,there should also be a guard rail on that bit ,there should also be signs for the intellectually challenged ,yes a child has an innate sense but nowadays cliffs just crumble I have seen people with children have a picnic next to cliff edge on flat bits need some signs up
