That's a hobby I would love to do!!!

I just assume everyone makes a small change in their posts. Eg. Say they have boys instead of girls, add a few numbers to their age, live in the Wirral instead of Liverpool etc.

DP blogs which is not outing. What he blogs about would be crazy outing because I think there's only maybe 3 or 4 'known' blogs on his topic.

Also, if you start a thread about a name then it should be compulsory to say the bloody name otherwise the thread is pointless.

Mine is Playmobil, collecting it, arranging it into little scenes, taking photos..it's how I met DH so it's obviously popular.

Yeah that's what I was going to post!! It was a really outing hobby. There was new male member who tried to take over and couldn't even play properly.

Whenever someone moans on here about their DH being gone at the weekend for long periods doing their hobby I always assume it’s cycling! I dated someone for 18 months who was a cyclist and it took over his whole life, I was a complete after thought. I can’t imagine why someone would marry one! I’ve said too much now, maybe I’ve outed myself? 😂

Yes! That was it. It was so niche!

Windsurfing is one example of a tiny sport where everyone knows or knows of everyone and would easily lead to spousal complaint (lots of big pricy kit, time consuming even before you add travel, plans change with the weather). Completely incompatible with parenthood if you also have to work for a living.

Fencing is outing. Someone proved that to me on here.

Hockey, which is my DH’s hobby, isn’t.

Unless it’s something like cataloguing Neolithic hazelnut shells or similar, I really can’t understand why people insist a hobby is ‘outing’

My hobby there is only about 100 people on the country that do it and we all know each other! We know there are not more of us because it’s only possible in a certain type of space and needs specialised equipment! I could easily be outed if DH came on here and started ranting about my hobby!

I didn’t need looking after - i was with a group of muggle friends but I did get free drinks passed my way so for this one time only, the hobby paid off 🤣

imagine if I’d been up to something though. It was a bit disconcerting. We’d travelled a long way!

The hubby with the outing hobby often has a very niche job, which also can't be named!

Is windsurfing really that niche? Where I live there are loads of people who do it.

@Westfacing my DH’s actually is. I can say he’s an actuarial contractor but his specialism is niche.

I actually do have a niche and potentially outing hobby! If anyone wants to guess, I promise to say if you get it right! And I'll answer questions.
