For example- putting your washing away upstairs, anything that involves leaving the room really?

Just curious!

YABU - you don’t leave your child.
YNBU- you leave your child while doing jobs.

I leave my 3.5yo while I put washing away, go to the toilet, do dishes etc, not my for very long of course but 5-10mins is fine
He often follows anyway but is happy being left if he is occupied playing with something or watching tv

Just me who has essentially left them since birth? Just pottering around while they're in a Moses basket/bouncer/play mat or happily in a baby proofed room. Not for long periods of time but long enough to put some washing away or clean the bathroom? My house is just a 3 bed semi so not huge, I can hear the kids wherever I am.

My youngest is 5, just does what she wants while I'm in the house. I can chat to the neighbours outside the front and she's safe in the house. She'll come find me if she wants me.
