Following on from yesterdays thread re haven. dates are a non negotiable, has to be last week of august.

im looking for a nice and clean, ideally by a beach, kid centric (nearly 5 and 2.5) and a nice clean and not too cold pool with a splash area.

i have 1k to spend, fully appreciate it will be a UK hols.

debated a haven as per previous post but so many of the reviews are that they are dirty and I can’t deal with that. Butlins Bognor might be another contender but would like to try something new. Butlins hotel and food package is coming in at around £900

where should I go?

Why don't you use the Sun Newspaper holiday codes, I did this for years when mine were little.

Look at Capfun....

This one isn't far from Calais, add £300 for crossing and still under £1k for last week August for family of 4.

Their sites appear to have amazing pools, kids play areas and some onsite entertainment.
I discovered them when looking for alternatives to Eurocamp, and they look great value for money.

If you have passports, look at Europe as their school holidays usually finish a week before the English ones so you're paying term time prices.

Seconding this. I know lots of people who've used them! Also the Mirror. Nothing flash about them, but generally considered great for families with young children. They have to be at least average standard, or they wouldn't get the volumes to allow the low prices.

@Garlicking

Some people are really snobby about those holidays, when I met my husband (after 13 years of being a single mum) I suggested we went on one.. He genuinely believed that they put the people who used newspaper codes in a different section of the park and it would be really obvious you were on a 'poor person's' holiday 😂
Uk holiday parks are brilliant for little kids, The nicest parks I can recall staying at were Somerset and Weymouth.

We stayed at Hoseasons Weymouth Seaview a few years ago which would be under £1000 for your dates. It doesn't have a splash park but it has an indoor and outdoor pool, is near beaches and there's loads to do in the area.

Have you followed the lady called The Travel Mum on Instagram? She finds some great deals, gives suggestions on ‘budget’ activities and post great blogs on family destinations. If you sign up you get sent an email once a week with the best finds.

We go to Haven 1/2 a year. Always go for gold/platinum caravan. It’s always spotless and well equipped. Don't go any less than gold.

I’ve been to Butlins twice. First time in a ‘fairground’ apartment, it was… sticky. Last time a friend booked room only, good god it was bloody awful. Never ever again. Shit hole.
