We've never got to transfer before but looking like we will this round. Can you share stories of your transfer working 1st time please? Feeling anxious and need the positivity. Thank you

Mine did! I got 20 eggs but only 1 embryo and she's almost 2 and a half!

Glass113 · 09/03/2024 22:34

My best friend, gorgeous little boy first time round and then surprise natural conception 18 months later with a little girl. Now she has 2 running around!

Good luck!

CorneliaStreet · 09/03/2024 22:35

Me too. First round, 16 eggs, 4 embryos, one implanted which resulted in my daughter.

nolitetebastardescarborundo · 09/03/2024 22:35

Ours worked first time and we now have a very exuberant 2.5 year old. I'm now miraculously pregnant with a very big surprise, naturally conceived baby! Our issue was my low ovarian reserve, early 30s. Good luck!

WholeZebra · 09/03/2024 22:40

First time here too. 9 eggs - 9 embryos. And currently 38 weeks pregnant with our perfect little babe.

IDrinkFromTheKegOfGlory · 09/03/2024 22:41

My DW only produced 3 eggs of which 2 fertilised. They were implanted in me and one stopped growing after 6 weeks.
The other one turned 16 yesterday.

merryandbrightdelight · 09/03/2024 22:45

We did! Unexplained infertility on my side. We got around 12 eggs, and only 2 made it to day 4. Because of our issues, the consultant said he was going to put them both back in (we are NE and the procedure here is three fully-funded rounds on the NHS, but only two or more eggs will be frozen; if you have one one left, it will be destroyed).

Ours worked first time! I always think if the consultant only put one back in the outcome could have been so much different.

And... when dd1 was 9 months old, I fell naturally with dd2! There is exactly an 18 month age gap between them, and it is bliss (at times. Sometimes it is noisy, and loud, and they tell tales at 3 and nearly 5) but I wouldn't change it for the world. My midwife said sometimes IVF can completely clear your insides out which is why natural pregnancies are common afterwards.

The very best of luck for your journey OP xx

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 09/03/2024 22:47

Not me, but two friends did. Good luck OP.

HellersK · 09/03/2024 22:50

Yes for me! Two blastocysts made it to transfer and one of those made it into the world nice months later! The best of luck to you.💛

Whalesong · 09/03/2024 22:50

Both of ours did, after years of trying and many rounds of Clomid, IUI etc (unexplained infertility). First IVF: 11 eggs, 6 embryos, 2 transferred, one baby. Second IVF just over 2 years later I responded a lot less well and the cycle was nearly cancelled because there were only 3 eggs developing. But they agreed to go ahead and we got 2 embryos, transferred both and again got one healthy baby.
Good luck!

Couldthiswork · 09/03/2024 22:53

🙋‍♀️both DS and DD were conceived on the first attempt. With DS I over stimulated so they had to cancel the fresh transfer but the frozen one worked. DD was the result of the first cycle. I know we were lucky, really hope you are too

Rainbow821 · 09/03/2024 22:53

That’s amazing news, so pleased for you. I know what a stressful journey it is. We were successful on our first attempt, and now have a wonderful 4 year old DD. We had unexplained fertility, and were shocked to get pregnant on the first round.

However for when attempting for baby number two I had two natural miscarriages, two failed rounds of IVF then went on the get pregnant naturally which resulted in the birth of our second DD. Wishing you lots of success on your journey!

MujeresLibres · 09/03/2024 23:14

My friend did. Her (IMHO abusive) husband said he would only do it once, and she conceived at the age of 40. She has a DD, 8. She has left the husband and moved to New Zealand too.

LadyChilli · 09/03/2024 23:17

Ooh, best of luck! My first and only time I was 38 and had 2 embryos transferred. One of them is 9 years old now and the best thing that ever happened to me and to the world.

Moveoverdarlin · 09/03/2024 23:20

Mine did. No issues at all. I was 35, DH was 38. Currently watching The 1% Club with my now 8 year old who’s just got two questions right. We won’t hear the end of this.

We had two Frosties left over from that cycle, got a BFP with both but ended up miscarry very early on. Did a fresh cycle and again, it worked first time. I was 38 then.

IVFlife · 09/03/2024 23:24

Love these stories. Thank you so much. We have our lining scan on Monday morning

3 eggs 😢2 put back and 1 pregnancy, now 21 years old
2 eggs, 2 returned and 1 16 year old ! So although quantity low, quality great and can still be successful.

Tailfeather · 09/03/2024 23:29

I had one chance only! And it worked. He's just turned 7.

rainylake · 09/03/2024 23:31

20 eggs, 12 embryos by day 3, 5 by day 5. We had one transferred and it took. She is now 5 and a delight.

Good luck to you OP.

TruJay · 09/03/2024 23:32

One of my closest friends, I don’t know how many eggs embryos totals etc but it worked first time for her and her beautiful son is the result and they then implanted another of their embryos and she is now 6 weeks old. I’m overjoyed for her, she’s a wonderful mum to them and I love them all very much.

RunningForMySanity · 09/03/2024 23:51

Mine did, 7 years old now. I was 28 and it was my issues. Also have a 4 year old who was conceived naturally (and a rather big surprise!) Good luck x

NeedMoMoney · 09/03/2024 23:54

22 eggs 😱 11 fertilised, 7 made it to embryo, first transfer and had twins 😄 just be as relaxed as you can! And all the best for you! I know how hard it was x

BringMeSunshineAllDayLong · 09/03/2024 23:59

I work in this world. Seen lots of first time success stories. To up your chances (especially if you only have 1 shot) the scientific research says do the following to improve your changes:
If you are overweight, lose it.
Drink minimal alcohol ,,
Stop smoking
Use acupuncture, especially before and directly after transfer. And ideally before egg extraction for several months.

JennyForeigner · 10/03/2024 00:04

One decent grade embryo - now a school boy. Two more ropey looking wobbly little things in same petri dish but the embryologist said we might as well give them a go before starting another cycle if we were sure about wanting a sibling.

We have three kids now. And the clinic has a picture of all three up on the wall 😄

Infertilitylife · 10/03/2024 00:07

Ours worked first time :)

5 years of trying with no success at all. Male factor infertility and I have PCOS.

4 eggs collected (I was expected to have over 30 but I ovulated early and lost almost all of them) 4 embryos were created and frozen.

Had my transfer on May 4th 2023 and now have an 8 week old little boy.

Good Luck 🥰
