Is just infuriating ?

Why would a person think this is acceptable ?

I've mentioned it so many times, but it continues.

Mine rips open the cornflake box and gets the cornflakes out by plunging his hand in and grabbing handfuls 😫

Also he will pick up the bottle of handwash to pump some out, leaving a dent in the bottle.

When he bothers to wash his hands.

MonkeyToez · 01/03/2024 10:10

I recently discovered (thanks to a kfc corn on the cob) that if you grab both sides of the tag and twist they open really easily.

Hope that helps somebody!

Denimdenimdenim · 01/03/2024 10:14

Oh dear God. That would drive me crazy!!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 01/03/2024 10:16

Make him a testicle sandwich and then LTB.

Best advice I've read on MN.

This isn't about the bread, this is about a thick fuck of a man who can't be arsed doing something small to make sure that others get to enjoy something too.

CranfordScones · 01/03/2024 10:21

If it's true that: The way a person does something is the way they do everything -- how does he do other stuff? What is it with some men and their lack of any kind of thought for others?!

Wode · 01/03/2024 10:21

Every time I bought a loaf of bread I would just remove the tag and seal it with a clippit thing it is that or I start planning a new patio. It would give me the rage to see it ripped in half.

AnImaginaryCat · 01/03/2024 10:22

coffleecup · 01/03/2024 09:29

Hahahaha this made me LOL.

A sliced loaf of bread, he rips the plastic in the middle. Rather than removing the little tag and then opening it.

He just lazy and contemptuous then?

ThePenguinIsDrunk · 01/03/2024 10:23

He's going to the same part of hell as people who use a spoon to stir a hot drink and then put it back in the sugar.
What a wrong'un.

Slanabhaile · 01/03/2024 10:25

Aaaaagggghhhhh!!!! This is serious LTB territory 😱

coffleecup · 01/03/2024 09:51

I came down this morning and it's just pretty much all open. Doesn't even try to keep it together and reseal.

I usually try and squish it together and put it in the cupboard standing up. He gives zero fucks and just leaves it like that, all open basically, in the middle of the table.

Yeah... I have one of these.... in fact 2 as DS10 is copying/equally lazy. Not so much the bread loaf... but packs of rolls, cheese blocks, and onions! All left to dry out or in the case of the half onion go mouldy in the back of the fridge. I've started calling them back to correct. Drives me mad with the waste.

MardyBigBum · 01/03/2024 10:31

Even if I could get over the inability to open the tag and subsequent the inability to rip it open at the top, the leaving it open on the counter cos he can’t be arsed to tidy up after himself would tip me over the edge. I’m raging on your behalf OP.

OneTC · 01/03/2024 10:31

I can tolerate many things but this would upset me.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/03/2024 10:32

We don't have the bread problem now (though the bags of bread in the freezer never get their clippit put back on, so if we didn't use them fast enough they'd desiccate.)
It's the buttering of a piece and leaving the dirty knife on the worktop instead of putting it in the sink or even a plate that's the bread-related issue now. (I mean obviously checking if the dishwasher is currently dirty stuff and putting the knife in there would be a step too far).

Watchkeys · 01/03/2024 10:40

coffleecup · 01/03/2024 09:48

Yeah the bread goes stale much quicker of course

Can you get a container for it, so that he can open it how he wants and it can be stored well like you want?

What does he say when you tell him it bothers you? This is more the issue really, it's not about the bread, is it? It's about the fact that he continues to do something when he knows it'll bother you.

TealSapphire · 01/03/2024 10:42

Absolute savage.

Does he have any other issues with fine motor skills?

User19798 · 01/03/2024 10:43

Enko · 01/03/2024 10:19

You need one of these bread bag op

Yes of course, because a man who can't be fucked to spent 5 seconds opening the bag it comes in is going to carefully transfer the open loaf into an organic cotton bread bag isn't he?

mindutopia · 01/03/2024 10:54

I'm not sure my marriage would survive this.

BroughttoyoubyBerocca · 01/03/2024 10:59

I couldn’t tolerate this. Has he got any redeeming qualities?

Crumpleton · 01/03/2024 11:07

@NCForQuestions ...

Genuinely wondered if it was safe to open.

OP I'd just duck tape the pack together until he learns to open it the usual way and keep a separate loaf hidden away for myself to use.

H always ripping open a load of bread in the middle
easylikeasundaymorn · 01/03/2024 11:09

I am glad you've clarified OP because I was imagining him ripping a whole loaf in half at the middle like some sort of angry werewolf....so opening in the middle of the bag is still odd behaviour but less so!

professionalnomad · 01/03/2024 11:10

LTB - it's a no-brainer

easylikeasundaymorn · 01/03/2024 11:11

My friend ate crumpets untoasted, just cold, right out of the packaging without any butter or anything. Really shocked me the first time I saw it!

TakeOnFlea · 01/03/2024 11:14

Who the fuck does he think he is? Leaving a mess of ripped up bread for you to clear up. Presumably he shows this utter contempt for you every single day too.

On the bread front we don't have little tags (warburtons) so you could tell him to buy that in future but I don't know how you get past the disrespect towards you.

professorcunning · 01/03/2024 11:16

Does he have fingers? Just checking he wasn't in some awful industrial bread slicer accident.
