To think my immune system is f*****

Over the last couple of years I’ve been ill with colds, coughs, bronchitis, flu, sinusitis, viruses and more pretty much every 5-6 weeks. I’ve now lost my voice for the second time since Christmas, coughing, sinuses blocked etc. What’s going on? I eat healthily (pescatarian) exercise regularly (ran a marathon in December) try to look after myself but seem to get every cold the kids bring home but end up bedridden while they and my husband have a mild bout.
WIBU to try and get some tests (no idea what sort) to see why my immunity is so fucked and why I am literally constantly ill? I’m so fucking tired of being sick, feel guilty and have understandably lost all sympathy from family and friends .

Have you had covid? Or how many vaccines?
You sound like my daughter..she has long covid.. developed RA/ POTS and other ailments..always seemed to have sore throats n coughs etc.. and Hemiplegic migraines
She's been to long covid clinic.. and they are 99% sure she's now like this due to either Covid or the vaccines.. and now has a very low immune system.

I am getting my flu jab in sept this year and not leaving it so late

why can’t we have covid jabs any more? Is it cost? Can’t we pay for them like flu jabs if we need to?

@Newgirls covid vaccines are going to be privately available from 1 April but not as cheap as flu jabs, or in as many locations currently
More pharmacies seem to be being added all the time so keep a check here for a convenient one
And wear a mask when you go to get vaccinated, the rooms they give the Vax in are usually really stuffy and not ventilated at all

@JaneMumofTwins you are muddled I think. I was pro lockdown and I'm pro vaccine. I've had more of them than most. I was arguing scientifically. We know that the ongoing effects of isolation in the pandemic is extra infection for a few years. It doesn't mean that was a mistake.

I just think that we have reached the end of any effect from that. What we are seeing now is something else. The 11% increase in active TB infection is a classic bellwether.

I'm the exact same!! The past 2 winters I've had back to back colds/viruses. I get rid of one and catch another. I thought it was just me. I even went to the GP for blood tests!

From what I've read (and as someone with Long Covid I've read a lot), immunity debt from lockdown has been totally debunked. It's not a thing, at all. People confuse things like Amazon tribes - who died from the common cold as they'd never encountered westerners before and didn't have inherent immunity - with people who stayed inside for a few months. It is not remotely comparable and our immune systems wouldn't be affected negatively by that at all. It's a made up concept by anti lockdown/ anti vax people. Most people who are suffering with extra viruses and low immunity now are affected by Covid. It negatively affects our immune systems and each infection can make it worse.

2 things have happened in the last 4 years. First Covid. Many have had repeated bouts of Covid which (new fancy term, long covid) can contribute to much post viral illness which basically means reduced immunity to other common viruses. Something that was learnt during Covid was that the majority of patients were deficiant in Vitamin D. A big player in good immunity.
Secondly. Repeated MRNA vaccines. Which it is now known did not reduce infection, nor stop transmission. But is laso now known to have a negative impact on the immune system making those that had up to 4 boosters more suseptable to viruses.(see WHO.CDC.Lancet and BMJ)So all these folk, most of us, are now more likely to get the circulating viruses.
WHO now recommends everyone take a daily dose of Vitamin D.

This! Never really get ill - have one bad cold a year, if that. Haven't had a sickness bug for over 20 years.
Have had only very mild Covid once and no jabs before, during or since (yay, for natural immunity!)
Try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, keep my distance from people who are/have been poorly and wash my hands... a LOT!
