Not nearly as long as the conservatives have taken to respond to the misdeeds of their members. Not only that but they’ve usually promoted them

And...?

Do not make assumptions about deletions based on posts that you have not read.

The ones I read that were deleted were wittering on about how Jews control the media and were obvious antisemitism.

The attack by Hammas was appalling and literally nobody is saying it was right.

This isn't true. There have been many attempts to justify it as 'resistance'.

Dogfisher · 13/02/2024 12:28

Do not make assumptions about deletions based on posts that you have not read. Disagreeing with the actions of the Israeli government makes one neither antisemitic not pro- Hammas, despite attempts by some here to make that true

I don't think that MN would delete posts that were not offensive. Perhaps someone who saw them can explain what they were?
Also, it's Hamas not Hammas.

I neither support Starmer, nor Ali, but again, I posted links to the New York Times, the BBC and the Guardian- hardly Tiktok or Instagram

Then I was not referring to you was I?

Then you didn't read them all. And several were actually pro- Israeli.

But selective facts is hardly surprising here.

Still waiting for one of you to answer my question. How many Palestinian deaths will balance the books?

All this thread does is demonstrate the impossibility of having a rational approach to the entire subject. The attack by Hammas was appalling and literally nobody is saying it was right. But the counter attack by Israel is similarly murdering many thousands of innocents, driving them from their home and land, and - right now - cornering them with nowhere to go except the sea.

Simple question - to ask those who think that criticising any action of the Israeli government is antisemitic... do you support the state sanctioned murder of 28,000 men women and children, the 68,000 injured, solely because they are Palestinian? If so, please tell us - what will be the right number of people killed and injured to even the score for the 1139 dead Israelis?

That's not what the deleted posts said. They said things like "I'm disappointed that the Jewish community worldwide is not demanding a more moderate government in Israel" and "it's a fact that Jews control the media".

Seing as nobody actually thinks that criticising any action of the Israeli government is anti-semitic, you might struggle to get an answer.

The attack by Hammas was appalling and literally nobody is saying it was right.

There are people who say it was right.

Coyoacan · 13/02/2024 04:28

You are the one that sounds Antisemitic. I'm strongly antizionist myself and share that position with a lot of excellent Jews who do not agree genocide being done in their name

You can't claim to not be anti-Semitic and say things like "nearly every war crime Hamas were accused of on October 7th has been disproved, but people here still think that Hamas are the terrorists", no matter how many "excellent Jews" (🤢) you know.

Someonescatmum · 13/02/2024 13:01

There are a lot of posts on this thread that haven't been deleted that are sceptical of the OP's position. I don't think these should be discounted. 😔

HobnobsChoice · 13/02/2024 13:10

This is my constituency and we are one of the very very few Jewish families here. We won't vote for Ali. He wasn't my choice anyway as candidate. I don't think Galloway or the Tories will win. Tories have historically low polling numbers. We've always been a Lib Lab swing. We seem to have really got the dregs this year with Galloway and our old MP Simon Danczuk standing for Reform Party. I'm going to vote Monster Racing Loony I think. Never done that before. Roll on the GE

stomachameleon · 13/02/2024 13:12

It implied that as jews controlled everything they could coordinate the bombing of rafah, rescuing of hostages and the advert during the Super Bowl right up until the last moment.

We all interacted with it. And @noblegiraffe was on the thread so I don't understand your
'Posts you haven't read' or do you mean you didn't.

It was quite shocking.

stomachameleon · 13/02/2024 13:13

@Someonescatmum why be sceptical?

@Coyoacan Biscuit

Someonescatmum · 13/02/2024 13:18

@stomachameleon People clearly have a variety of views. On the MP's actions as well as the actions taken by Israel in response to Hamas. Only a small number were deleted (presumably following reports??). It's a complicated issue, and nobody is clearly wrong or right in my opinion.

Neriah · 13/02/2024 13:22

@MandatoryLizLemonParty
That's not what the deleted posts said. They said things like "I'm disappointed that the Jewish community worldwide is not demanding a more moderate government in Israel" and "it's a fact that Jews control the media".

I will happily own to the content that I had deleted. I responded to a poster who said that criticising Israels actions was antisemitic and that anyone saying otherwise was supporting the view that Jewish people deserved to be murdered and they should question their position. I was deleted for saying that anyone who supported the murder of any innocent person should question their humanity. I stand by that comment, and if I'm banned for daring to do so, then so be it.

But I will make my question simpler since it appears nobody understands it. How many innocent men, women and children need to die for the books to balance on the innocent Israelis who died? The justification for everything that the Israeli government is doing is because of that attack. When will people here be satisfied with the deaths of innocent Palestinians? When is it enough?

stomachameleon · 13/02/2024 13:22

@Someonescatmum I think it was explained why they were deleted. It wasn't linked to thread and more conspiracy theories.

I don't think Mumsnet deletes for differences of opinion.

Skodacool · 13/02/2024 13:24

GRex · 13/02/2024 07:30

You are stating that you agree with Ali using the anti-semitic dog whistle "people in the media from certain Jewish quarters", and by implication also state that it was wrong for Andy McDonald to be removed. How deeply unpleasant you are to not even be ashamed to admit your bigotry.

I'm not saying they delete for a difference of opinion. In fact I said the opposite.

I'm saying there are different views on this topic that haven't been deleted and still stand. They are still relevant.

stomachameleon · 13/02/2024 13:26

@Neriah take it up with Mumsnet then. That doesn't sound right.

@Someonescatmum I get what your saying now.

No one owes you an answer to that question and if you want to demand that people on a thread answer it, perhaps you should start a thread about it rather than trying to hijack a thread about something else.

bombastix · 13/02/2024 14:24

It's a terrible decision to have picked him, I assume it was the local party. The guy is an antisemitic moron who believes conspiracy theories. I wouldn't want him to look after my cat, let alone have him represent me in Parliament and make law.

The Labour Party has better people than this but it says a lot about them that this was the choice. Incompetent or just anti Jew?

I understand the conflict well, however I had not actually posted about it at all. I posted that you were agreeing with statements about "Jewish media", which is anti semitic lies being spread about BRITISH PEOPLE. When you continue to conflate British people of Jewish origin with the Israeli government, as you apparently can't stop doing, your bigotry shines clearly for all to see. Out of interest, do you do similar with all other races, or do you reserve your hatred for only one minority group?
