I think the only time I’ve heard it was on The Traitors. Speaking of which, “oh my diddly days” is much worse!

I thought everyone said poorly? What else do you say? I can’t stand it when people say they’re “sick” like they do in America.

I just say ill or be more specific and say “I’ve got a cold” or whatever.

Swipernoswipingg · 13/02/2024 08:41

Surely ‘twee’ is the most “twee” phrase.

Such an old timey word

Mumsnet is the only place I've come across such strong feelings about words or phases. All this gets my teeth on edge and turns my stomach talk! Living in the world must be hard for some people if things like the way others speak has such and effect on them.

Or get get hubby to make them some yummy soup and then tuck them up all comfy and cosy in clean jammies

Oh yes. That reminds me, how loathsome is the expression 'jammies' or 'jim jams'

Februaryfeels · 13/02/2024 12:43

There was a "jarmies" the other week

I'm a scouser, we say jarmies. You've got to say it in a scouse accent to appreciate it "I'm gonna get me jarmies on" 😆
