Why don't people blow their bastard noses?

Sniff, sniff, sniff. You have snot in your nose, blow it!

Just got into the office. Big open plan monstrosity. 2 other people are in. They are both sniffing snot up their noses every 10 seconds or so, in stereo.

I offered the closest one to me my box of tissues. Oh, thanks, but I'm fine.

Its so annoying for others, but it MUST be annoying for them too, surely?

Mind you, it's light relief from the usual YouTube videos being played on full volume without headphones.

Or the shouted conversations had over multiple banks of desks. Or the pile of dirty dishes around the sink, on the draining board and in the sink. Or the box of mouldy lunch festering in the fridge.

God I hate the office.

There is worse. I remember walking down the street with my mum when a man coming in the other direction pressed a finger against one nostril and blasted a humongous gloop of green slime out the other nostril onto the pavement. He didn't even break his stride. That was about 50 years ago and I still have nightmares about it.

To he honest, I do blow my nose. But there are times it is so stuffed up and blowing achieves nothing. So I still end up sniffing. It is annoying for the person suffering too!

I despise sniffing! I literally have to wear headphones during the public transport commute solely to block out other people’s disgusting sniffs. You should get a free pack of tissues with every train/bus ticket!

We have an office screamer. She doesn't shut her bloody mouth for more that 30 seconds. Shout shriek chortle whoop cackle all day long.
She has a missing tooth and makes a slurp sound through it. And she does that incessant sniff.
I hate this office!

Ugh that makes me boak

I didn't want to blow my nose all the time last week when I had a cold because my nose was so sore down blowing it. I was home though and tried to not sniff all the time

Gross but true, I blew my nose earlier and had to sit with tissues stuffed up there for 20 mins because it Wouldn't stop running. In an office I'd have been a sniffer.

And there's your answer OP. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't! If I took myself to the loo (niles away) every time I needed to blow my nose, I'd never get ay work done.

I’ve got the most horrible cold at the moment I can’t blow because my face hurts so much my head feels like it is exploding when I try and so much snot everywhere there’s just no end I’m sorry

My son can't do it. He is 8, I have ran out of ways to explain to him how to do it ...

I'm on a train at the moment and the open mouth coughing with no mouth covering is equally annoying.
