We are assuming the OP is pregnant. 👀

Bit of an odd choice to wear a maternity dress if she isn't.

Candleabra · 07/02/2024 09:09

It’s fine. Though I think if you’re heavily pregnant it’s so hard to dress normally that rules can be relaxed anyway.

TheChosenTwo · 07/02/2024 09:20

Why does it matter if the bridesmaids are in the same colour?
What’s going to happen?
The photographer calls for the bridesmaids and the bridesmaids go for the photo. They don’t call out a specific colour for the photo call!
There will be more than one other person wearing the same colour as the bridesmaids at almost every wedding.
Unless you’re one of the bride/grooms closest of friends how do you even know what colour the bridesmaids will be wearing before you get there?
sometimes people look for things to make life harder!

TokyoSushi · 07/02/2024 09:23

I think the question was Is this ok for a wedding? Not, do you like it? It's fine OP, have a lovely time!

Invisimamma · 07/02/2024 09:26

We've been asked not to wear pink or red to a wedding soon because that's the bridesmaid's and mother of the bride's colours. As long as you are not clashing them I'd say your fine.

That dress is a lot of fabric though so unless your super tall and slim with a perfectly rounded bump it could look frumpy.

SherrieElmer · 07/02/2024 10:47

Very classy. You will look gorgeous in it.

AuntieStella · 07/02/2024 13:19

I think the plain pale baby pink isn't quite right. But it you add some boldly coloured accessories (eg pashmina/scarf) it will be lovely

Bluenotgreen · 07/02/2024 13:21

I don’t like it but it’s fine so long as BMS not in pink. I would check

I really like it. And think it's very pretty.

Apart from that it's really wedding appropriate.

Have a great time OP.

jackstini · 07/02/2024 13:50

It's lovely and very suitable for a spring or summer wedding
Looks like it will be floaty and comfortable too

HassledAndHarassed · 07/02/2024 14:23

OP it's gorgeous. You'll be the best dressed. Enjoy the wedding.

Peaceandquietandacuppa · 07/02/2024 14:58

It’s fine for a wedding, you will look lovely! Ignore all the posters ignoring your question and telling you their unsolicited thoughts on the dress.

I think the model photos don’t really do it justice, but on the real life/review photos it looks lovely!

Lulu1919 · 07/02/2024 15:03

Lovely unless they have pink bridesmaids maybe ?

How embarrassing for you, to write something like that.

Rosesanddaisies1 · 07/02/2024 15:04

i don’t think it’s very nice but it’s fine for a wedding. Unless the bridesmaids are wearing that colour

MasterBeth · 07/02/2024 15:07

itsalwaysthesame · 06/02/2024 22:31

I think it's pretty hideous 🙈 even the model doesn't look good in it. Like a flump marshmallow stick, there must be something more flattering out there!

Thanks for your helpful reply.

sunglassesonthetable · 07/02/2024 15:09

These days B'maid dresses are any colour - not just pastels.

So I suppose the " unless the B'maid dresses are that colour " comment applies to any outfit ever.

The new S&B " cancel the cheque ."

Islandlifex · 07/02/2024 17:37

It is giving me marshmallow and-dare I say-Mr Blobby vibes! I don't think the sleeves are flattering at all and the material looks cheap!

This would not be flattering for someone who isn't pregnant, it also looks like a nightgown. As you can probably guess, not my cup of tea, there are so many gorgeous maternity dresses, I would choose something else!

I don’t think maternity dresses are supposed to look flattering on non pregnant people?
it looks flattering in the real life review photos.

Janetime · 07/02/2024 17:56

I’m fairly sure they wont mistake you for the bride op. You can stop panicking…😄

Pottedpalm · 07/02/2024 18:03

There’s just too much … pink.

SweetDreamsAreMadeOf · 07/02/2024 18:27

The actual dress is nice. It's pale-er than I'd personally wear to a wedding given the floaty style (especially if you don't know their colour scheme). May be cleared uo by a convo with them though.

💯per cent this @Candleabra. If you're shortly to push another human being out through your vagina, you get a free pass over what you are allowed to wear. (long past that stage myself, I should add, but still!)
